I noticed that you are calling the XM-3000 a "moped" on your web site. However, in nearly all US states it wouldn't be classified as such, because:
1. It doesn't have pedals (the original definition of "moped"); and/or,
2. It exceeds the maximum speed for a legal moped.
Additionally, the term "moped" has certain negative connotations in most parts of the US. Does anyone call a Vespa, Honda Elite or Metropolitan a "moped"?
I prefer the term "motor scooter". Thanks.
Hi PJD,
With regard to #1 - most states don't require working pedals anymore.
With regard to #2 - we're still researching the possibilities of various speed restrictions and their acceptability.
The term "moped" is used to denote a classification of bike - if the Vespa, Honda Elite or Honda Metropolitan have less than 50cc and meet the other requirements then the State calls them a "moped".
But you're right - I might just drop the term "moped" from a marketing perspective.

Sorry, I still need to update the website. X-Treme are now quoting May 15th (which sucks because I leave for the UK on the 17th).
The bikes are en-route - the delay was apparently due to being held up in Chinese customs.

X-treme put some details up on their site! XM-3500Li

Some of what appears to be new information:
Availability: Scheduled for July 10th
The built in 2 Speed Automatic Shift Transmission gives the 3500Li a top speed of about 60 - 63 MPH and we have personally tested this moped to these speeds.
Charger: Thunder Sky Smart Charger With BMS
Warranty: 2 Year Battery Warranty - 1 Year Motor - More Info Soon
What that kind of battery warranty, I would expect them to be using a BMS. I was seriously thinking of an E-Fun D, but now I'm not so sure. My bet on price is $3,500 - 4,000 USD.
