Here is a picture of my ride ;)
My Bionx PL-350 fitted to a Carerra MTB
When I was 60 years old, about 11 years ago, riding started to be a "pain-in-the-neck" as well as wrists, ankles and a few other places. To get past this, I built a recumbent tandem bicycle which has turned out to be a real life saver. For the first 9 years after I built the bike, my wife & I rode it quite a bit, over 24,000 miles, and then we pretty much quit. You can see a description of building it at the following link: http://tender-learning-care.com/mybike.htm .
About 2 weeks ago I added a Bionx kit to it, which has re-kindled the fun of riding a bike; it's the new model 350LR with the battery inside a "cage" formed by the rear rack. The kit fit really well and you would hardly notice that it's on the bike. Check it out:
Last Saturday I took it on a 34 mile ride; with a little babying (some regen, some 0 assist on flat land) we completed the ride with 1 bar left on the battery power indicator. On a flat area, the bike stabilized at 17.4 mph, with no pedaling. Looks like it's gonna be ok.
The folding bike is a Montague Swiss Bike LX. Changed out the stock fork with a Rock Shox Tora 302 U Turn; changed the freewheel to 11 tooth; added SunTour suspension seat post; Bionx 350
Extremely pleased with the bike and the Bionx set up. Best distance was 35 miles with level 1 or 2 assist, including a few hills, a couple up to 250'.
All of these Bionx rides look cool. Only thing I would do
in addition would be to color match the Bionx box to the
frame color of the bike.
