Battery Size for Motorino XPH scooter

Hello

Does anyone know what size batteries are in the Motorino XPH scooter? I have one coming in a few weeks, and wanted to order and break-in some Greensaver batteries before it arrives.

Also, has anyone converted these scooters from 48V - 72V?

Thanks
Andrew

Re: Battery Size for Motorino XPH scooter

sorry, I should have been more clear. I wanted to know the physical dimensions of the batteries. I was going to order then from silicon-batteries-usa and the A/hr ratings are in 10Hr and 2Hr.

What is the difference between the 10Hr and 2Hr ratings?

Thanks
Andrew

Re: Battery Size for Motorino XPH scooter

The battery size should be the same as the half U1 industry standard which is usually about 7.1 inches long x 3 inches wide x 6.5 inches high. Batteries in this size usually are rated at the 20hr rate (max amount of capacity that you can slowly draw out over 20 hours to some set discharge cutoff voltage) from 17AH to 22AH. These batteries can have different terminals though (bolt and nut, Faston connector, etc.) The difference between the 2hr and 10hr rate for the silicone batteries is due to the peukert effect which means that the faster (higher amps you draw out) you discharge a battery the less capacity you get out of it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peukert's_law Also, I am curious as to why you are already going to buy new batteries because the scooter should come with a new set unless you ordered the scooter without batteries. The site lists an option for an extra 48V 14AH battery pack which would probably be a better investment to give you more range and longer life out of the batteries.

Re: Battery Size for Motorino XPH scooter

Thank you Jbird for the information

As per your question, I'm replacing the stock SLA batteries since they are not the best quality and I'm looking to increase the performance from day-1 (more speed).

Thanks again for the help
