I see this a lot in their reports on the BS in the Middle East:
[...]the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the record about the ongoing intelligence analysis.
All these people who are suppose to keep their mouths shut, open up pretty wide when they're hiding behind a mic.
Sometimes I think the quotes aren't even from actual people - the press writer makes them up to make a story [interesting] or to get people to think in a certain way about things - then hides his "source".
Does anyone else get this feeling?
