hi everyone,
i just got a new vectrix about a week ago, and put already 300 miles on it, with no problems...
i have two questions for you "veterans" owners:
1-the five deep charges must be done in sequence, or it is not required?
2-the package came with a small booklet with "scheduled" maintenance intervals? what is it about? is it not supposed to be virtually "maintenance free"?
thanks guys, great machine!
According to the dealer I bought mine from, Vectrix has now reduced the number of recommended deep discharges from 5 to 3, and no, they don't need to be done sequentially. From what I was told, you actually want to do them about one per week.
I haven't paid any attention to the "scheduled maintenance", so no input there.

If it's like the EV1, you check the tire pressure and brake fluid level.

I have more questions:
1. If you receive the bike from the dealer with battery 40%-50% charged, is it ok to drive it to deep-discharge immediately or does it have to be fully charged first and then fully deep-discharged?
2. Is deep-discharge from 50% factory charged bike considered a deep-discharge?
3. So only 3 deep-discharges are now necessary? Can anyone confirm this, since in the manual is says 5 deep-discharges.
AndY1,
I wouldn't stress over it that much. You will get enough deep discharging with regular use. My Vectrix started with 99 miles on it from demo rides at the dealer. So there is no telling how the battery was conditioned.
I was serious about my 3 deep discharges the first week. And since then it has had a few more. It just happens from regular use. Don't worry about it. The Nickel (NiMH) battery is tough and designed to last.
