Women Love the Scooter

I've been driving my electric scooter around town now for awhile. It's a little Schwinn Stealth 1000. It's a little beefed up running 48v Lipo and a 40-100amp controller. I get a lot of waves and honks. I got a little bike horn that sounds really dorky, but people seem to like it. Today, I was riding home and I heard a car coming up from behind me honking. As the car passes, I notice it's full of girls. The do the "wooo" thing, and believe it or not, I got flashed. This isn't the first time I've got the "wooo" from the women, but it is the first flash. That's what I call EV love.

Re: Women Love the Scooter

LOL. I also have a small stand-on scooter, that I ride around town with my girlfriend.
We get alot of smiles and stares while riding it. Some people shout at us asking if there is room for one more person, or if we can give them a ride :-).
I recently "Pimped" my ride, adding blue neon lights on the bottom. So now when we ride it at night we get even more comments from passers by.

I've been thinking about doing that. I'd like to add a motorcycle headlight, so the 12v battery would be there. I would use red neons to accent the Stealths stock colors. It's a neat idea, I don't think I'll ever do it though.

I bent my wheel, broke my trans, and blew my motor. Now I cry a lot.

Re: Women Love the Scooter

If you add 2 of theses blue/red LED strips in series to the motorcycle headlight you can run them all off the scooter's 36v battery instead of adding an additional accessories battery.

I run 48v. And I think it would be easier just to run a 12v 7ah battery that I have. The LEDs and headlight shouldn't take that much power to run. I might do this. I could be fun. I just drove back from working out with my friends and it was a little too dark with my 2 xenon head lights. The LED tail light seems to be okay.

I'm thinking accents with some electroluminescent paper would be sweet. I've got a blue strip of the stuff I'm considering putting on the battery box to improve my chances of being seen at night. It's not bright, but it's very eye-catching.

Re: Women Love the Scooter

I just bought a light for the scoot. I got a headlight and two underbody lights for it. I'm going to go ahead and get a 12v lead battery to run them. The headlight is a fog light. It should be enough to see. At 4am this morning, I road into town and seen 3 cars on my way to my friends house. Two of them pulled out infront of me.

I bent my wheel, broke my trans, and blew my motor. Now I cry a lot.

Re: Women Love the Scooter

I put LEDs on my girlfriends Stealth. I won't be able to say that long. I'm getting married on Saturday. I hooked up 4 12v LEDs with a 9v battery to each one. I'm going to do the same thing to mine, but I need more connectors first.
