I am hoping that the results won't be as bad as what everyone is saying...
For me, it's not as bad as some people make it out to be. At half charge, I have a noticable drop in "punch", but not to a point where I can't keep up with the normal traffic around me. Even with my half charge conservancy, I have no problems pulling away from traffic at stoplights. Nor do I have a problem doing 60mph at half charge. The accelleration drops off a bit, but top speed isn't really effected until much further down the stack.
My stretch of highway can easily be run at 65mph, but the speed limit there is 50, so for most of the time, the general traffic flow lies somewhere in the middle of that, which is a nice sweet spot for the Vectrix. On the days when the traffic is more aggressive, I just fall in behind a slower moving vehicle and chill out.
I hope you can live comfortably with your new software. It's there for the benefit of the bike.
I can send you the firmware use and synopsis information if you want, but it may not be prudent to post it here, as I'm not sure if it's copywrited. (was posted here a while back). Shoot me an email if you don't already have it. moccasin [at] bellsouth.net
Hello All,
I would like to confirm that the range indicator on my Vectrix decreases when sitting unused. My Vectrix is a 2008 model, with Oct 08 software. I have been keeping a log of range and record the mileage indicator after charging. It was 42 miles last week, after sitting for 5 days, it read 40 when the bike was turned on. So it appears the new software takes in account the self discharge of the batteries and controller. The bike has just finished the 5 discharge cycles, and I noticed it has more power now when down to 1 bar. So far an equalizing charge has not occurred.

NiMH batteries discharge 1% per day.
