So I'm almost at the end of my the SLA pack that came with my BL36 kit and I'm definitely buying a Ping - probably a 12Ah. This will give me the flexibility to leave my battery on my bike at work instead of carrying it inside with me to charge. However, this raises the problem of leaving my battery unattended all day in a parking garage under my building. What type of enclosure would you guys recommend, given that I'd like to keep my battery from being stolen, and can plug my bike in w/o removing the battery at home, but would still like to be able to remove the battery without the use of tools.
I was thinking something like an old ammo can or toolbox w/a lock on it... what have you guys used?
Mine's in a metal toolbox on the rear rack. What you don't want to carry it into the building looking just like a bomb? Mine locks, but not to where it would take more than 2 seconds to get it open. An ammo can might lock better. Many theives will be pretty detered by anything that needs a screwdriver to get into, so just building a box ,and bolting it to the bike may be enough. If you get ripped, chances are they take the whole thing.

I already look like I'm carrying a bomb into the building - a really heavy one :) - I bring my SLA in to charge every day. I was also considering using my existing WE soft trunk bag and simply using a cable lock to connect the battery to the rack thru the bag (by cutting holes in the bag for that purpose).
I use a 30 cal ammo case.....haven't walked into any buildings
What, you don't like duct tape? I think the pingping packs come with a perfectly fine case.... <grin/>

I use a cannondale trailer bag. It's almost a perfect fit, has a little roll-out raincoat (never used it), and is very stealth. Here's a link to my blog with pics:
