I've been riding big bikes for decades, and the "toilet seat" ergonomics of the Vectrix are really beginning to work on me. I love the bike, and all it stands for, but I gotta get my feet off those high floor boards and put them were feet belong!!
Ok, here's the plan.... I want to add a set of KuryAkin highway pegs about 3 to 4 inches directly forward (not down) of the corner spot where the floorboards turn upward. I'm sure there is nothing behind the skin to support foot pegs, but I was thinking of having a set of plates made that will fit on top of the floorboard, with a gusset piece that would extend forward to hold the pegs. That would give me a two point mounting system (the two bolts under the rubber matt that hold the body panel to the frame arms) and hopefully the gusset would be stout enough not to flex under normal use.
Has anyone else thought of or done something along this line?
No not really but there exists a website that might be
able to assist you in your endeavor. Visit

you can design the plates to your hearts content then
order them online. Have fun!

There is always a way if there is no other way!
Many thanks for the photo Mik! Your shot of the framework confirms my expectations that there is nothing substantial behind the skins to mount a sturdy Highway peg system to, so my only real option is to create an outside bracket (as shown in my earlier drawing) so the pegs could be mounted by way of a welded box bracket coming down from the floorboard. Going take some doing, but I'm going to work on it when I get a chance.
Or you could just ride the Vectrix like this guy does :-)
This wouldn't be possible in the UK. This is because we are not allowed to use mobile phones while driving :-)
I wonder if he's still with us? ;-)
In light of the very real possibility that my bike may soon become a "collector's item", I think I'll hold off on doing any modifications to it.
