Heinzmann motor EVG Ebike wiring

How should the heat sensor be wired in my evg ebike? The motor has three leads and apparently one of them is the heat sensor. How does it work and how should i hook it up. I've read about people frying the motors by not hooking them up.

Re: Heinzmann motor EVG Ebike wiring

a hub motor has 3 thick main power leads, and 6 thin leads:
2 for 5V power
3 for hall sensors
1 for temperature sensor.

if the controller does thermal cut-back (and it may not) there should be a wire coming from the controller to connect it to.
alternatively, you could put a digital temp gauge on your bike and use a "manual back off"

I figured it out. The heinzmann on my evg ebike has two leads for the voltage which open when the heat gets too high.

yup, two big leads for the power to the motor, and two thin ones that go into the controller, and shut off the controller if the switch in the motor gets hot, and opens the circuit. If the controller has an on off switch, you can wire it into that circuit.
