Cleaning motor...

Hi all

So I've read David's instructions on how to clean an EVT motor and just wondering if its really advisable for a mechanical/electrical novice to undertake.

Or is it best I take it to my local repair shop? They'd charge 130 euros - approx $185. The guy mentioned that as well as the obvious danger of losing a finger there is a danger of ending the life of the motor if the two magnets touch??

Thanks in advance for any help.
