Does anyone know what the controller in the Zapino is?
So, i'm looking ahead to when the batteries go poof in my 2007 zapino. it's likely that it'll happen within a year given it's age (though it has very few miles on it).
In any case, i wish it went a little faster, so when the batteries die, i'm wondering if it'd be possible to get a different set of batteries (maybe 72V instead of 60) and run faster/longer. I figure it may take some hacking on the controller, or a different controller altogether.
If anyone knows anything about the controller in the zapino, i'd like to hear about it.
Thanks.

Hi Tango,
I don't what old Zapino use. But I do know what controller and motor that new Zapino is using. It is a 60v 2500w motor and controller. But I don't think you can change the battery suite to 72v cos there is no space in the battery box in the frame. How fast your scooter go? 65km is the new controller can provide.
Sure there's space. Just use part of the storage under the seat. :) I'm sure that there will be some mods to make in order to hold it in place.
I'm somewhat kidding here. I'm mainly interested if it's possible. If it is, i'll work on the logistics of it all later (though under the seat seems like a possibility).
It can go 65kph (just shy of 40mph), but that's not quite fast enough for the streets that I drive on. The specs on the zapino i have show a 3000W motor.
Thanks!

Put in storage make you have more space than just 72v battery pack. Haha... So your controller is the new one and the motor should be a real 2500w rated power motor. The 3000w should be a peak output or something.
I think you can change to a 72v controller, rated output currency should be at 50-60A, and peak output currency at 100-120A, then you can assemble on a 3000-4000w motor.
I go 43 MPH on my stock zapino. If I duck under the dash and get in an aero tuck I cn get over 45mph on a flat road.
