Xufeng XF50QDT-2 Electric Scooter, Derestricting ?

I recently purchased this scooter for expansys in the UK , Xufeng XF50QDT-2 Electric Scooter,

http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn163/g_p_t/P1000648.jpg

Its got 4x 12v 38ah batteries (48V) and a 1500w brushless motor, it is restricted to 28mph (checked on my sat nav)

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas if this can go faster or is the the maximum speed I should expect.

Thanks Gavin

Answering my own question, this bike has an Infineon Controller 18 fet , reprogrammed it and,

She now max's out at 35mph on the flat !! (sat nav certified)

Gets up to 30 really quick, much better pull off, and the acceleration at about 20 is magic ..

Really pleased with it now ..

Still at 48 volts .. god knows what would happen at 60 !!

Go onto ebay and order one of those:- 250518860029 only £8.99 inc post

It will take a few weeks to come, you will need to open up the controller, (silver box on the side of your scooter.)

The programmer connects to the controller with a few wires to it (I have fitted a socket to mine)

software (which i can email you) allows you to reprogramme current and speed settings etc. Only take a few seconds once connected.

Goto h**p://electricmotoring.forumup.co.uk/ they have a section for the xufeng , you can see pics of mods I have done so far, Also many other elect scoots and mods from the UK ...

Thank you so much, beginning to grasp the whole concept now. About to take look at the pics you've suggested.

Would be very appreciative if you could send me the software as I wouldn't know where to look otherwise!

Again, many thanks for your time :-)

Re: Xufeng XF50QDT-2 Electric Scooter, Derestricting ?

Thinking now about trying 60v on this machine now.

Im just worried about the controllers internal voltage dropper though,

There are 3x 1k resistors (about 3 watt rated i would say) in parallel

They seem to drop the 48v down to 15v, im guessing there is a 15v zenor regulating this.

Do I just keep my fingers crossed that it will be ok? Or maybe cut out one of the resistors so that the total resistance is increased.

Do those power resistors have anything to do with the voltage monitoring circuit ?

A circuit diagram would help.

Any help appreciated.
