I also bought an "old" model recently and I heard another Dutchman did the same. It seems that they are getting rid of some old inventory. I knew that I would receive an older model and also got a nice discount because of that. So far my range on the batteries is still improving which means that the long storage has had little effect so far (no guaranties for the long run ofcourse).
I hope you have the same positive expiriance as I have!
Newest bike in Barcelona:
2984 June 2010.
During last months the production has been crawling , but has never stopped. By now, over 3000 vectrix have been produced around the world.
I still have my original 2008 VX1 and it has a crippled battery pack only allowing 4 miles of travel between full and empty, it has only done 7,500m and I'm horrified t learn the official view is I need to spend almost £5k on a new battery pack. Such a waste (as don't have the tools or knowledge to do a cell swap). Even the Vectrix Corp website denies there is any presence in the UK, is my only satisfaction to push it into a quarry and move on?
(Sorry - I can't start a new thread, it won't let me!).
1962 Unit, October 2007...
Wow, very early unit. i suggest you check the fuse, if you havea 125A, replace it with the standard 200A Fuse.
I apologize for not keeping this post up to date:
Sadly the local dealer has collapsed, and there's no shop left in Barcelona selling any vectrix at all (the best maxiscooter market in Europe without any shop selling Vectrix!), I have no way to have a glimpse at new VINS. If anyone can send pictures of new VINS, I'll be very grateful.
This hasn't been updated for a while but I have serial# 3228, date of first registration may 2011

I encourage everybody to post their last 4 digit of the VIN and date of Build. Just look at the white skicker.
I'll open again one last time that old excel and update the list with the latest numbers.
Mine is serial# 0146.
The date of production on the white sticker is November 2007, but the date of first registration in the UK is 15th February 2008.
For some strange reason, my registration document doesn't recognise it as a Vectrix:
How many other people in the UK can admit to having a "3 kW electric powered invalid vehicle" capable of doing 68mph?
And before anyone asks, no I don't park my "invalid vehicle" in disabled parking spaces!
Here's mine (bought used in 2011 from Somerset, UK) ...
I just read Martin's post and was surprised to see an earlier production bike than mine with a much higher chassis number, so I decided to check my vehicle's sticker in case the registration document had been mistyped, and I can confirm that my considerably lower chassis number is definitely correct:
But the "1443.8KG" weight limit on the front axle is definitely not!
If my bank were to make mistakes like that with the deposits, my current balance would be much better.
Today I've bought my second Vectrix within a weeks time :-)
It is serial number 3243 with date of first registration 22-08-2011.
Despite its date and late serial number it's is a NiMh version

Fortunately, the registration document for this bike has "Vectrix" instead of "Invalid" as a make, but I don't understand why the body type is shown as "SCOOTER COMBINATION"?

Yep mine stood over a year in the factory in poland.

Great!

Today I've seen an April 2011 unit, serial 3201. Very new!!!
Cool - was it Lithium-powered? Did you snap a photo?
another one. This time I could take a picture.
Notice the front holes. Now they're sealed with silicone. A real improvement.:-)
Hi R,
Have you (or anybody else) seen any new bikes lately?
It is now 2 years since the last VIN update. I wonder how far we are now...
Thanks.

New to the forum - thanks for all the hard work and content. It will all surely help as I attempt to resurrect a dead bike.
Recently purchased Vectrix - VIN: 437 July: 2008.
By R's stats, this is an "old vin - factory retooled bike". Any idea what factory retooled means exactly?
Dave
Oh, i think now mine is the newest one in the forum...
It is a VX-1 Li+ and was first registered from the former owner in august 2012
Here is mine :
The lice plate is from 7-2009.
Has been stored for a while then
2009 Vectrix VX-1
Here is mine- from July 2007 has the SAA (not WAA, which seemed to reset the counter?) before the number
Yesterday i've bought my third Vectrix :-)
Here are the pictures of all three white stickers
