Dear Vectrix Friends
Yesterday I was in Milan (Italy ) at the EICMA (67th Internation Motorcycle Exibition ) where I had the opportunity to meet and converse with the new High Vectrix Management, Mr Wolfgang Gohl ( Vectrix Vice President ) and Mr. Claudio Sistopaoli, Sales and Marketing Managing Director.
The main topic I discussed with them was basically related to the “Spare parts availability” and “Warranty condition for those vehicle which were sold before the new Vectrix organization start”.
Speaking with them , first feeling I have got is to deal with new and modern Vectrix Management Team ,who are always available to hear & listen the opinion of the final users, ready to discuss and clarify with any issue. They have very high skills either Technical or Selling . The new organization takes care of their Customers and consider that it is very important the final users satisfaction.
SPARE PARTS: Vectrix Vice President assured there are a lot of spare parts available to meet the world wide market demand. They already re-start the spare parts shipment around the world.
WARRANTY: The new company will keep taking in charge all warranty issues related to all Vectrix vehicle sold before the new Vectrix company, but that still will be possible during warranty period , and of course also for the new vehicles.
So I think we don’t have to worry about the future of our lovely Vectrix.
One funny but significative thing: This week, when the new Vectrix Vice President come here in Italy, he put in his personal laguage one Vectrix charger in order to speed up the deliver of this spare part for one of Vectrix users who has been waiting the vehicle reparation for long time .
Good thing, Electro, im happy to hear this news and also know that soon you will have your Vectrix repaired!

I'm glad to know my friend claudio is in the new Vectrix Team. He is the man who made possible the conversion of the initial prototypes into the superb machine we drive Now. He convinced me to go to Italy to test the bike in 2006... From this moment I decided to be the first vectrix owner in southern europe... It was a pitty they didn't have time to test the battery SW. Claudio, I know you'll give your best, Good luck with this new "vectrix era".
pd: We need a vectrix store in the middle of Barcelona. The Suzuka Shop is Perfect, but it is not placed in the middle of Barcelona... I believe Barcelona is the best marketplace in Europe for new vectrixs. Its full of TMAXS, silverwings and burgmans!!!!!! And now Barcelona will install 160 public recharging stations for EVs... What's more, top speed around the metropoli has been reduced to 80 km/h. Now an electric motorbike makes sense here...
That really is a good news to hear!
I'm 1 year into warranty now and I'm happy to see, that my bike will get serviced if needed and Vectrix will thrive and survive!
I'm also very happy, because the November weather in our parts of Europe is really shaping up for a nice warm and sunny late autumn, with temperature between 4°C and 14°C.
I forgot inform you that and agreement between Vectrix and the Study university in Rome has been reached in order to prepare one Vectrix Scooter to participate next year to the Tourist Trophy Race on the Isle of Man.
You mean the TTXGP?
Dear Elektro,
I am trying hard to contact Mr Wolfgang Gohl from past 1 month. Since you met him as you told, will it be possible for you to help me providing his contact number of email id.
I am associated with a EV manufacturing firm at India.
I will be highly greatful for ur favour.
I maybe wrong, but I am not sure the extremely talented Dr Gohl is still with Vectrix. It would also appear that despite a promising start, Gold Peak may be be having second thoughts about containing European manufacturing. It will very much depend on the current round of subsidies. I am informed that vectrix need to sell 5000 units per year to maintain profitable production of the ageing VX1. The question is, can the new group, (divided into US and Europe) sell 4000+ per annum?
4000, would be twice the number of the old Vectrix companies total sales! On the surface it would appear to be a cinch, but I wonder how many units Hesketh have sold so far? Allthough early days, Heskeths sales would be an indication of overall potential sales volume. If Hesketh can't sell at least 2000 bikes annually, it is difficult to see how the rest of the world can sell more.

Just noticed this (old) newsflash on the Vectrix Europe site.
Not sure how to read that message, friction between management or personal reasons?
Is there a relation to the post above with regards to the future of Vectrix in Europe?
Once you go EV, Gas is history!
We are getting used to such annoucements, but on the other end, we users are still stuck with issues in getting spare parts.
The new European importer (Escini) has not been able to deliver parts I am waiting for since march 2009. May be I have to wait for Vectrix Vice President to come to France...
Less talk and more action would do fine.

Definitely not a good sign!
Wolfgang Gohl was about the last remaining properly qualified engineers, and talented manufacturing executive Vectrix possessed. Mr. Wesley Lau is a senior executive with Vectrix new owners, Gold Peak batteries.
Yes that's them, the folks who provided you with your wonderfully performing Vectrix batteries!
Mr Lau,(no relation to the old Perry Mason actor)is a specialist in corporate efficiency and maximising resources and profits. This job description sounds like the end for Vectrix as an independent manufacturer, expect to see the future Vectrix models as badge-engineered Chinese produced products.
It gives me no joy to say, I told you so, but I'm sure that Mr Lau can do the math. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for spare parts.
I wish Wolfgang well in his quest to build EV's and I am sure he will continue to make an invaluable contribution to the Industry.
Dr Gohl is a true pioneer of the development of EV's.
