My rear tyre was worn out, so I changed it.
I went for the "city grip" , and after having it checked out for a few days, I'm happy.
I trust it more than the original..
Especially in the wet conditions we had here the past few days.
It tends to "hum" though.. guess its the new tread..
I'm afraid they're gonna think I'm a petrolburner :-))
"doing nothin = doing nothing wrong" is invalid when the subject is environment
I had the Michelin Gold Standards for about a year before having to replace the rear tire due to a flat. Unfortunately, the Gold Standards were out of production by then and the best match I could find was the City Grip.
Of the two, I prefer the Gold Standards. They "hum" a bit more, but that's because they've got a more traditional all-weather tread design. With the amount of rain we get in the Seattle area, it felt like a much safer tire...even if it resulted in slightly lower mileage.
The City Grip tread, however, is still considerably better in rain than the stock Pirelli. They're an excellent compromise, and none of the Michelin's have had the irregular Pirelli "lumps" that caused all the shimmies and vibrations.
I also have Michelin Gold Standards, since 14.000 km ago. They're perfect, far superior than the original pirellis.
A suker pity Michelin decided to end their production.
So I had those winter (mentioned a few posts above) tyres fitted last saturday and it was right on time.
It snowed on saturday and yesterday as I left the office. Also the temperature is now below zero (celsius) the whole day.
So far the tyres are great. Already on the way home I noticed the improvement. More grip and you feel the tyre is a lot softer. So for me even after 150km it is clear that I made a good choice.
Cannot comment on range because the cold weather already removed at least 15% of that.
My bike is now charging and the target voltage is 157!
Battery temperature 3 celsius!
No overheating problems here :-)
Will hit 10.000 km this week on my original battery, nice mark.
Found my rear tire was going low PSI regularly... inspection revealed a leaky valve stem base.
Replaced Front and Rear stem bases with metal bases (HIGHLY recommended) = no more leaks.
FYI valve stem base is TR412.
Try this:
hehehehe...
