One warning bell rings... 250 miles covered, 2007 vectrix....

Assume 24 months / 250 = 10 miles a month.

How could the battery have been kept in a good condition with such low mileage, over such a long time?

By doing one recharge every month... If we take into account that by 2007 there was very little knowledge about battery maintenance, it is very unlikely that this battery have been kept in good condition. I suspect it will be another bike affected by the range-reduced syndrome, and it will hardly ever hit 40 km of range. Another disappointed owner... It is a tragedy for vectrix, as less and less people will believe in the brand. The only hope is that the battery was replaced in 2008 during the general recall, and the dealer/owner received instructions about how to maintain the bike.

Having recently performed a service on this VX1, we can confirm that it was fitted with a complete new battery pack with latest software in April 2009.

this means that the warranty is void ?
what was in volved in service and
really how often should this be done ??????
as in brochures all we hear about is very little serviceing !!! and really how oftern as these are not cars
and not bicycles as these reqire a hell of a lot serviceing when used a lot as i know from past and other weeks ago
as vectrix let me down with the wheel bearings not to worry up and running now
but with electric scooter there is very little things to titen change or brake of to weare out apart from that dredid planatery gear box ???????

In reply to your questions on servicing, the revised schedule issued by Vectrix in February 2009 states every 6 months with no mileage limitation.

The owners manual which should have come with every new bike does have information on pre-ride and periodic checks to be performed by the owner/rider. It is also the responsibility to arrange servicing (as with any product).

Any idea what us American's should do for the "6-month servicing?" Most of the dealers in our area have closed Vectrix shop. I'm in Colorado. Thanks.
