another PING battery question

Hi all

I know this site is inundated with Ping battery articles but I really need to ask you this question before spending my hard earned cash.

I'm building a bike using a Crystalyte 5304 motor and a 4840 controller. No problems there.

I was just about to settle for a Ping 48v 15A (or maybe 20A) battery when I read that Ping batteries cause problems and should be avoided. I got the info from FalconEV's site:

http://www.falconev.com/batteries.html (scroll to the very bottom of the page).

I do realise that Falcon are competitors but one never knows what is true and what isn't. Could those of you who have been using Ping batteries for some time please confirm (or otherwise) their quality? I'd really appreciate this.

One other question: Are they really 2C or better?

Thanks

Neville

Re: another PING battery question

Something I should have done before - I went through the forum and the good comments far outnumber the few bad. Plus, I got an email from Ping who reassured me that the photo on FalconEV's site is taken from a forum and simply shows physical damage to the battery... which apparently was fixed.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I've ordered a 48v 20Ah battery - will keep you posted.

Re: another PING battery question

I wouldn't worry about Ping. It's Falcon that has the bad reputation.

Yes Ping's batteries are 2C or better, however they probably will last longer at 2C
