Hi,
I'm Captain Ice Cream and I am looking for Company to work with to help me to build a new generation of my 3-wheeled Ice Cream Mopeds.
I was on the ABC reality show, "Shark Tank" last week pitching the sharks on my venture. If you want to see my ice cream moped in action, please click here: http://abc.go.com/watch/shark-tank/225872/248939/week-14?cid=fullepisodeaccess
I would like my new generation of ice cream mopeds to be electric and I am looking for engineering help. I can fabricate the finished designs in Los Angeles.
I believe I saw an electric moped that may have been built by Bob Schneeveis(?) when I was in Palo Alto this past November. It was a bitchin' tube-framed, belt-driven, electric, hard-tailed "moped" that would make a great front end for my next-generation of ice cream mopeds...
If any of you know Bob and can get me in touch with him, I would really appreciate it.
Also, I am open to suggestions as to how I might build an electric version of my beloved ice cream moped. E-mail me: captainicecream [at] gmail.com
Thanks,
Tim "Captain Ice Cream" Gavern

Hi,
best of luck with your future business and electric fleet!
Thought this 3 wheeler solution for 2010 from e-max could be of interest? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGAcbFiiVys See at approx 1:36 onwards.
Those don't seem to be sold in the United States: http://www.e-max-scooter.com/dealers/list.php Too bad, too. I really like that little three wheeled scooter.

I will be manufacturing an electric 3 wheeler ( a tilting one )in 2011. It's a cargo scooter, primarily designed for Postal and Pizza type work. It has a trailer hitch to enable towing..... in your case you would need a trailer for your ice-creams - as the bike itself is reasonably narrow.
Target specs - 10KW, 50mph, 60mile range, dual hub drive (rear wheels) 60V 60AH LiFePo4 batteries.
I have an automotive design company engineering it for manufacture, and the bikes will be made somewhere in Asia, aim to retail in America for $6,000. Fully compliant to all design regulations.
It's an expensive process to get a bike designed and manufactured....approx $2.5million US, will see the first ones roll off the production line.
Is the Ice-cream container refrigerated? How much does it weigh(plus the ice-cream) ? How far do you expect to travel per day? What are the Californian regulations on three-wheelers?
These factors will determine the feasibility of a EV ice-cream three wheeler. The actual cost of adaptation from a two-wheel to three, is relatively small. In fact the three wheel design removes a lot of the engineering problems associated with two wheel balance and provides extra room for batteries.
We adapted several Vectrix VX1's to tow advertising trailers, before building a three wheel vehicle exactly the same as you are contemplating. The difficulties of range and weight will be your main problems.(also cost).
Good Luck!

It's made by TAIWANESS's factory.
