Re: External battery for Vectrix

You would need to connect it in series with 9 or 10 MORE 12 volt batteries to have enough voltage for the vectrix, which operates on 120 to 150 volts! Even if you had a "Car Battery" sized 130 volt lead-acid battery, it would offer very little additional range, as this type of battery is not a high energy density battery. A practical auxillary battery COULD be configured using Lithium-Polymer cells to create a 15 AH, 125 volt battery, but 35 cells, of 15 AH each, rated for 20C discharge rate, wired in series, would be required, as would proper charging and protective circuitry-Probably about $3,500 dollars, for 50-60% more range. (If used in parallel with the existing battery, range could increase by up to 80% at some speeds!)-Bob
