Reverse contactor wiring

Hi!

I'm trying to figure out how to wire my contactor.

I know how contactors and relays work. I have a double pole, double throw contactor (basically 2 single pole, double throw contactors)

and it looks like this contactor

or this one other contactor pic

but with this one, i can't seem to figure out how this thing works.

of course i do know how to power the coils. but i am not sure where to connect the wires that come from the motor, and also the wires that would come from the power source be it just a battery or a motor controller.

Re: Reverse contactor wiring

either side of the armature connects to either side of the back two terminals.

the positive and negative from the controller (or the positive and the field if using series DC motor) connects to the front terminal and one side of the flat bar at the front.

I'll post a pic when I get back home.

Re: Reverse contactor wiring

Hi, I looked at your pics of the contactors! These are not a double pole double throw switch . It is like an ether or switch! The side with the single pole goes to one of the poles of the motor. The other Two poles go to to the outputs of the controller!!? Let me explain here For the switches you have, to make them work you need two2. The sides with two poles will be parallel but reversed (.+ . .-) (.- . .+) Just a thought ! Are these a "latching " switch?? If not you may have to reverse the two inputs from the controller to go forward when the coils are off ! Follow the path :electrically: !! LaTeR

thank GOD I wake up above ground !!!!

Re: Reverse contactor wiring

Hi!

thank you!

I think i now understand how this thing works.

and yeah, it can be a double pole, double throw if you want it to.

i think i can now do the wiring of the reverse contactor on my own :)

thanks for your inputs!

now, to understand this motor controller and pot box and hall effect throttle I have here.
