hey there all, thanks again for your responses to my bike questions. i have a short battery question, not so much which battery (i am pretty sure lithium is the way to go for me) but i think i might be ordering from http://www.cyclone-tw.com (cant get a hold of jim at http://www.cyclone-usa.com) but they batteries they list are different.
Jim lists:
24 Volt 24 AmpHour Li-Ion Battery
http://www.cyclone-usa.com/store.php?crn=201
and the Taiwan site lists:
Li-Po Battery including 5A charger and shipping , 17Ah 24V
http://www.cyclone-tw.com/lithium.htm
so thats a lithium ion versus a lithium polymer? how will that affect me? and the 24Ah vs. the 17Ah, same question: what's that mean for my bike performance in general? i am planning on the 500w motor (need it for SF hills)
thanks!
`hopbot,
No problem, and welcome to V is for Voltage.
Have you checked out our V is for Voltage Forums Community Hand Books Library there is only a small amount of information so far in the EV Batteries Collaborative Hand Books on Lithium Batteries, what other information did you need?

thx for the reply Stleride, i did peruse the battery handbooks and found some good info. i guess i just wanted to be sure of my assumptions that the 24Ah Li-Ion battery will discharge faster but give slightly more sustained power than the 17Ah Li-Po battery. basically, i am assuming that i wont go as fast but i will go farther on the Li-Po but it may be a negligible amount.
on a related note, the 24Ah Li-Ion kit contains a 2A charger and the 17Ah Li-Po kit contains a 5A charger. so that means a faster charge for the Li-Po batteries?
thanks again!
