2-SSIC Race Car - seen this one?

have you all seen this kit car conversion? It was supposed to be at the EAA Silicon Valley chapter meeting this evening, but it is still under construction, and didn't make it. But we did talk to the builder, Michael Kadie via speaker phone and got to ask some questions. Apparently, he's scheduled to race White Zombie in a couple of weeks, and hopes to claim the title of worlds fastest electric dragster.

He is powering the Shelby Cobra replica with A123 cells taken from 100 DeWalt battery packs bought off eBay! Built his own balancing system for charging. Check out the website at:

The project is still a bit rough around the edges, but it shows what you can do with $10,000.00 worth of A123 cells. Crusher says: "Check it out!"

I had the honor of escorting this machine at Earth Fair 2007 (the world's
largest annual environmental fair and Earth Day celebration – produced
by volunteers.)

More pix there for those interested in San Diego's EV scene.
