Steorn - "Free Energy Device" Validation in progress

Thought I'd upstart the conversation to carry it over from the old forum. Please take the time and review their site if you are interested and give us your take on it. Any other information or references will help that you can dig up will help too.

I have no clue how they are at least faking it.

Orbo is based upon the principle of time variant magneto-mechanical interactions.

Could they have stumbled onto something miraculous? Or are they sitting in a room laughing at our gullibility? Perhaps they are testing a new marketing strategy, or something totally unrelated. Ideas please!

The laws of thermodynamics have held up pretty gosh darn well for 150 years or so. I'm not saying they are absolute, but I am willing to bet 10 to 1 for anyone willing to take the other side. :-)

If I can't get funding for my eGrav craft (which violates Einstein's stupid E=mc² "rule") then they shouldn't get any funding either. At least I have drawn out schematics and am building a small prototype in my garage.

What do they have to show? Nothin'.

Though you don't have 22 scientists evaluating your eGrav device. That seems to count for something.

So lets say they are dirty con artists. Can anyone dig up something substantial? Background information? Provide a decent hypothetical explanation?

My take as I posted on the old forum just purely taking a shot in the dark was that their intent was to advertise the "free energy device" to discredit the employees associated with the company. The reason may be to prevent technology being leaked. The company was ironically into fraud prevention technology if I remember right. Could they have developed some legit technology that they want to keep under wraps? Could the free energy device be a diversion tactic to mask something more substantial?

I don't beleive they're con artists although its no doubt a reasonable possiblilty. I think the more likely rather boring explanation is they've just confused themselves. There are stacks of people selling stuff that make claims that are either contradicted by mainstream science or that simply have no postive evidence to support them. Most of them don't seem like crooks, but rather seem to get attached to an exciting idea and can't let go, if they depend on they're idea/product for they're living or have invested a lot of time they can also fall prey to they're own vested self interests, sometimes its much easier to deny reality than to deny ones own ideas.

Continually trying and failing can be pretty painful. The easy option is to lower ones horizons and not try anymore. The other option is to deny reality and lie to oneself and ultimatly others aswell. I think many of the greatest inventors, guys like Tesla some how have the determination to aknowledge their mistakes but also keep dreaming, keep challenging conventional wisdom despite all the disapointment, financial losses etc, not an easy path but without them we'd still be swinging in the trees.

The problem with my projects is that I can't ask for funding (not that I'd even get it). If my ideas really don't work, I'd feel horrible losing someone else's time and money, so I just use my own. This would be about fifteen years so far since I've come up with my theories and I'm just now starting on very simple (and cheap) prototype designs.

Actually, BaseStationZero was created to help fund the "XTC", but I can see this alone is not going to do it. LOL

I don't remember where, unfortunately, but I did read some discussions about some physics types about what is going on. The consensus was: this is not outright fraud (there is no hidden motor), but it is not free energy either. They believe the extra energy is coming from a gradual weakening of the permanent magnets. Permanent magnets are not permanent and you can extract work from them. This amount of work is tiny, as it is with Stoern, and it is not perpetual. It can never equal the amount of work required to produce the magnet.

Yeah, I read about this when it was on the other forum. I'm not as scientifically savy as some of you guys...but I've read enough to seriously doubt they have something.

I don't mean to change the subject here...although I think this relates in a very general way to "innovation, acceptance of ideas, etc." I just exchanged several emails with a major local auto dealership owner in my area. Did business with them recently and was tying up some "loose ends" and I took the opportunity to startup a conversation on "alternatives, EVs, etc." I was really quite astounded by one remark the owner (big money dealership) wrote. Regarding gasoline...responding to my stating that "gasoline driven cars were going to be a thing of the past...sooner rather than later"....he responded, "Well, not in our lifetimes and not in my grandchildren's lifetimes." I wonder if many in the automotive sales business really think gasoline driven cars will still be predominant in 10,20,30 years from now...must less in his "grandchildren's lifetimes"....say about 60-70 years from now. Wow! Are these folks that disconnected from the very industry they deal in?

Spaceship Earth is moving really quickly these days.
In a few years, we may not even need fuel at all.

I live in Sebastopol, CA.

While walking down the street one day, I happened upon this nondiscript storefront with no windows, no sign, and the shades drawn. It was odd, because this is in a high end, up scale, eco-yuppie downtown area, where every square inch of retail space is hoarded viciously.

I looked closer, and a little sign said magneticpowerinc.com

I checked them out, and holy #$%&*! if they're not sitting on a room temperature superconductor lab making overunity devices.....in downtown Sebastopol!
I signed an NDA and saw some really advanced models they're working with.

These people are no joke. They have Air Force funding, Russian Scientists, multiple labs, and multimillion dollar angel backers.

Representatives from the Finish Govt. said their work is the most advanced in the world.

Another company to watch is called Perendev Power. They have developed working prototypes, and the physics all lines up.....they just haven't been able to perfect the production and machining aspects. http://www.perendev-power.com/

And last but not least.....for today's final Blow your mind with amazing new technology that CARB refusses to certify because it would put them out of business, tip.... The Maganas Catalytic Converter:

This guy has a catalytic converter that will increase deisel fuel efficiency by 66%, eliminate 80% of CO2 emissions, and %99.99 of VOC's....in addition to producing carbon nanotubes as a biproduct.

CARB has done 3 independent feild tests of his equipment with the same verified results, but refuses to certify it, because it would require alterations to the exhaust system, etc. which of course is strictly forbidden in the name of "Air Quality". The EPA once again protecting our air ways for future generations of oil barrons......

You know, there are some older electric technologies that are used today that generate the high "milage" figures that are being searched for. The current generation of diesel electric freight locomotives move 300 tons for 1 mile on a gallon of fuel ( or 1 ton 300 miles). These are pure electric vechicles that carry their own generator station with them. Do the math and this means Hummer class cars at or above 100 mgp.
Yes they have some advantages, but they are the anthesis of what what we are talking about for high "mileage" stuff. They are big, heavy and not very stream lined. The basic technology is 60+ years old, updated with very good computer controled power.
So how come something that big heavy, boxy and old can do so well. Must be something that can be transfered to the automobile.

Um.. amortization? If you divide the miles/gallon by the amount of stuff being carried it ought to amortize to a reasonable miles/gallon/item.

For example one time I was flying the pilot read out to us over the speakers the miles, number of passengers, and the fuel being used by the plane. With that you could calculate a horrendous miles/gallon for the whole airplane, but if you split it over the number of passengers it ended up being 60-70 miles/gallon/passenger.

Hummers wouldn't be so bad if they were always used to transport a squad of people. But it's typical for SUV owners (and most other drivers) to use them as solitary commute vehicles.

Hummer; it's not a clown car. :)

My car gets about 32MPG with nothing in it and just me driving. If I load it up with 5 other people on board, the MPG can go down to 18.

Explain how my MPG is better with more people in the car.

Simple, if those same 5 people each used a car like yours then each one of them would be getting 32 MPH right? So if they all drive the same 32 miles the total use of gas would be 5 gallons, right? Now if all 5 of them travel in one car that gets 16 MPH and travel the same 32 miles they would use only 2 gallons of gas. That is a savings of 3 gallons, right?

David and I have had this conversation before, but it bears repeating. While it is true that a modern jet full of people gets relatively good gas mileage, this is only true over fairly long distances. If you do a hop like Kansas City to St. Louis most of the time is spent going up or going down and the miles per passenger gallon goes down significantly. The ultimate question is this:

Q. How does a true treehugger get from New York to San Francisco?

A. A true treehugger doesn't go.
