X-treme 700 should I or shouldn't I?
Submitted by Grumpy 37 on Thu, 06/04/2009 - 14:17
I'm considenring upgrading my Xtreme 508 to an Xtreme 700, but am heisitant to spend the money. My 508 recently quit just short of 1 year and around 1000 miles. Apparently I need a new controller (per tech support). I've also read several reviews that have pointed out many "quality control" issues with the 700. I don't want to spend 1600+ for a bike that's not going to last..anyone have any thoughts? Is the xtreme 700 worh the price?

I don't have to quote myself, right? :)
-- For more information, do a Google search for "Alpha Products International", or "X-Treme Struggleville".

Your 508 shares many parts with more expensive bikes and scooters.
Why don't you just upgrade as parts fail? Maybe try replacing with the controller with a 72 volt one and add the extra batteries.

I may try to upgrade my 508, I'm just don't have any working experience in that area. I've read alot of directions on this form and some of them seem doable for me.

I received a 700li in January it didnt last a month. Very poor quality imo and not worth the amount, or the headache of dealing with their customer service. The bike fell apart in less than a month and i treat my things very.... very well. I would suggest you stay away from any Xtreme products.
