Need help with brushless wiring
Submitted by Electric Recumbent on Wed, 10/21/2009 - 23:55
I'm new to this site. I was wondering is someone could help me with the wiring on my project. I have a mars brushless motor and a kelly KBL48301 controller. (I purchased the motor from briggs and stratton outlet and they said it is an etek motor. After receiving the motor I believe it is a mars. I guess it is a direct replacement.) Anyway I'm having some trouble wiring the hall sensor and can't seem to find a wiring diagram. I am told there are 2 power wires and 3 hall sensor wires. Does anyone know which color wires from the motor should be connected to the controller. Thanks.

Re: Need help with brushless wiring
there are two thick wires going from the controller to the batteries (red and black).
There are 8-9 wires from controller to motor:
3 x thick ones (yellow, blue, green), these are your main power wires.
2 x thin wires (red and black) for powering the hall sensors.
3 x thin wires (yellow, blue, green), these are the halls sensor signals.
1 x thin wire (cant remember colour) for the thermometer, if you have it.
the wiring harness that comes with the kelly is numbered, as are the main power tabs.
make sure the number you attached the hall sensor signal wire to, matches the number the thick wire of the same colour is attached to.
