Re: ETA for Vectrix Lithium Battery Pack?

But as soon as someone sticks their head out and offers installation of the "Non-GM stock" replacement pack, including the neccessary interfacing and testing with the copyrighted stock firmware and software systems, that person / organization would make themselves a very tempting target for a lawsuit!

not if they're based somewhere where copyright doesn't exist, like China.

and it assumes the new vectrix has enough money to pay lawyers to do something about it.
like patents, your copyrights are only as good as the lawyers you can hire.

Well, if you are prepared to ship your Vectrix to China for the upgrade, of course.... ROTFLMAO!!!

This information may be used entirely at your own risk.

There is always a way if there is no other way!

Actually Matt, Mik is quite entitled to modify his own bike in whatever manner he chooses. Likewise any After market supplier can supply products that replace or supplement the original manufacturers parts without restriction.

The problems only begins if the aftermarket supplier uses propriety IP. Likewise Mik can't offer the bike for sale as an unmodified product. The warranty may also be rendered partially or wholly void. Insurance and Registration may also be a problem.

Re: ETA for Vectrix Lithium Battery Pack?

125 km range? at 125km/h?

that'd be about a 100Ah pack.

or are those specs the same as the original sales pitch?

125km at 40km/h (ideal max, not reasonably achievable under normal riding conditions)

125km/h with very limited range ( 20km?)

we'll see. I hope New Vectrix quotes more realistic figures

HAhahaha. Are you kidding? who said 125 km range AT 125km/h?
They're talking about the 45 Ah pack. The higher capacity allows higher constant discharge, allowing 125 km/h. The 120 km range may be quite accurate:
Nimh: 30 Ah with 70% Profitable energy (due to security margins, internal resistance, and hi self discharge)= 21 Ah
LiFEPo4: 45 Ah with 95% profitable energy (cells balanced with BMS, less internal resistance, less self discharge) = 42Ah

With 21 Ah I can usually manage to travel 60 km. With 42 Ah and 20 kg less of battery , range should be increased to 120 km...
I'd rather prefer 60 Ah cells instead of 45 Ah....
Of course, at 125 km/h you won't get those 120 km of range...

WE know that.

But a green vectrix buyer might think it will to 125km/h AND 125 km range... simultaneously
