XB700Li Help, problem with motor

I took my scoot to work the other morning with not a worry in the world. On my ride home after work there was some serious vibration from the motor when I needed to climb any type of grade. Also the bike had only about half the normal power when climbing any type of grade. On level ground it doesn't seem to have any problems. Any ideas as to what's gone wrong and how to fix it. Can it be fixed, or should I be looking for a new motor/wheel like I've seen on the 700Li mods thread. Any help is of course greatly appreciated.

Safe scooting,

To me it sounds like you don't have all the phases firing to your motor. On level ground you are not needing the current like you need going up an incline.
Just a guess.

Re: XB700Li Help, problem with motor

Yes, it does sound like a phase problem. There's two screws under the seat compartments 'stash' compartment. Take them out and the entire seat assembly just lefts right off. Come on people I need help with the colors.
Coming from the underside of the bike is a set of four wires ( I'm doing this from memory here) I think thier yellow, red, black, blue. The blue one is for the brake signal I think. But there all coming up to the same connector. Make sure this connector is pluged into the controller. These are from your
throttle.
Go to my thread '700xb MODS' http://visforvoltage.org/forum/8376-xb700li-mods ' section and you'll see a wiring photo with the 5 ( I think ) thinner wires running from your controllor to your motor. Unplug this connection and push in every wire. There's a little (for lack of a better term) spring clip on each little connector pin which prevents it fron backing out. I've been a design eng for many many years and have seen these little cnnectors not properly inserted right . Try slightly tuging the wires to pull them back out, tif they don't want to move them you should be good.
In my last post in my MODS thread I stated I replaced a throttl. This is/ was because it was sending major voltage spikes to my controller and it kept shuting down . That was a major prblem tga I had read in another thread and it was resolved by som other means. But a $21 throttle fixed mine.
Anyway PLEASE LET US KNOW WHATS NEXT IN YOUR QUEST to get it "up" and running

Re: XB700Li Help, problem with motor

Dave,thanks for the response.
I checked the connections and no loose wires. I had also contacted Extreme's tech support about this problem and after convincing them that the charger and battery were just fine, they sent me some docs on testing the motor and sensors, which I'll be doing sometime next week. If anyone needs them, I'll be happy to forward them to you. In the mean time I've ordered a new wheel from Sue at yksuccess, same as the one you purchased, and hope to have it soon. I've always wanted a bit more speed out of this scoot and your experience of about 25-30 mph is what I'm looking for. You mentioned the need for a new throttle, where did you order it from as I'd like to get one myself.
Thank you again for your help.

Dave - where did you get your replacement $21 throttle from? My XB-700Li is doing the same thing again (the unit cuts off when accelerating).
