Vehicle maintenance
I over heard recently someone commenting about vehicle maintenance for regular ICE vehicles.
Their comment was "that they often break down"
This is sometimes true however, as an automotive service writer (in the automotive industry) I find that a lot of my customers have plenty of ICE problems with their vehicles. I wanted to point out that this is often due to someone to neglecting regular maintenance of their vehicle. I think that if you are an EV owner and you are good about maintaining your vehicle (replacing whatever is needed on a regular basis)your vehicle will have less problems, sometimes this is not always true. This is true for an ICE vehicle. Simple advice is to always keep the maintenance of any vehicle be it EV or ICE.

Re: Vehicle maintenance
Yes, Lisa, that's all very true! In fact very few ICE vehicles 'breakdown in the first 5 years of life.
However, I think what the person you overheard was trying to say was that due to the very complex nature of ICE vehicles, and the thousands of parts specifically designed to cope with a high energy yield, but very difficult and inefficient fuel source, ICE vehicles are more subject to wear than EV's.
The Ev drive train should be pretty well maintenance free. The biggest source of complaints seems to revolve around battery charging regimes.
