Can any one give me an idea of the thread for the rear view mirrors. Is it 8mm or 10 mm or something different. I am tired of seeing half my shoulder!

Hi Ray, The thread is 10mm. We at the VTC used after market Kawasaki mirrors on the demo police and paramedic bikes (at their request) as they have a longer stem, have 2 adjustments on the stem and the mirror face is adjustable in the head. They worked quite well. I believe they were Type Z mirrors, see picture.

Hi there Doug, hope you are keeping well. Yes please, I would appreciate that. My personal e-mail is evansra [at] ntlworld.com so if you could let me know asap I would appreciate it very much. The bike is going very well, replaced the back tyre.....thats it. The only slight query, is a voltage of 136 after full charge cycle acceptable? With the latest software I am getting ample range and performance but would like some re-assurance!
Regarding the accident, we are haggling over the amount of settlement at the moment in my favour, despite them still not admitting liability. Any way its up to 15k at the moment and rising!. Injury -wise , all the screws are out of the ankle and it is feeling great to be able to walk around much more.

I have noticed my final charge voltage has also slowly decreased over time since I got the most current firmware update about 1 year ago. I hope it is not a slow overall battery death. I was thinking that a 30ah forced charge would work but i don't have access to the diagnostic software or a service dealer yet.

I know this is way off the topic of mirrors but I need to know how much you are riding the bike Ray? It does sound to me like the bike needs a good ride to get the battery light on the dash then giving it a full charge. This may have to be done twice to re-sync everything and to do the EQ part of the charging process. If you have any further queries you can send me an email on my personal email from which I sent you the info on the mirrors.
I am still gainfully unemployed and looking for something suitable to my talents! Good luck with your settlement claim.

Hi Doug, did a very intensive run and got the red light. Full recharge.....141 volts on start up. Many thanks. Regarding the mirrors, the email I got was through this web site Doug. I just bought some mirrors - just walked into the motorbike accessories shop and asked for 10mm thread mirrors.
M.C.S. MU3B KE8 Mirror Black. Au$ 19.95 each.
I don't like them!
The visual field is not much better than with the originals, and they vibrate a lot more on rough roads. In effect I see less than before!
Am still tinkering with it, though. Gluing convex mirrors over the top of the MU3B might make it perfect.

They look/sound nicely made. They have many other shapes/sizes/colours. I have dealt with KiWAV before and they are very efficient. I will let you all know how I get on.

UPDATE: Mirrors arrived after about 10 days. They are very nicely made with stainless bots etc. Unfortunately they are are still not far enough out to get a good rear view but the over-all effect is much better than the stock mirrors. So I am trying pair of mirror extenders as well, also off eBay, and will update again when fitted.
Installed the extenders a month back and they have worked very well. Still get a bit of shoulder but if you put the mirrors any further out they will extend beyond the end of the handlebars.
Nicely made and rigid on bumpy roads. Bought off eBay from seller 'ilevers', auction titled 'Motorcycle Mirrors Riser Extender Adapter...' - £7.20 inc postage (to UK).

My mirrors, again from ebay, stick out beyond the handlebars - and they don't worry me in traffic. The main thing is that I can see behind my vast Mr Michelin bulk (especially when I have my wet weather gear on; that'll be most of the time here in the summer in the UK ;-) )£25 for the pair inc P+P. They look like this ...
I have also fitted some adjustable blind spot mirrors to each side - they are very useful as well. See this pic...
