Looking for a good hub motor

Hello - long time lurker, first time poster here,

Wondering if you all have a recommendation for a Hub motor?

So far I have focused on Crystalyte 408
http://www.electricrider.com/crystalyte/x-408r.htm

and High Tek Bikes' rear motor -
http://www.hightekbikes.com/rear-motor-kit.html

I have a controller - I work at a company that makes them and I'm looking forward to showing off a electric bike controlled by our controller.

Question is, how hard is it to interface with the Crystalyte motor? The installation instruction look pretty specific to there controller.

Also, are there any other lower priced hub motors that I could buy on the web?

Thanks!

Re: Looking for a good hub motor

Hello,
Good day. Give you a piece of suggestion. Your motor should be matched with your controller. If you just buy a separate motor, the parameters of the motor should match the parameters of the controller. If not, the electric bicycle can't be work. So it's better for you to bring the controller together with you to the motor shop. Otherwise, you may buy the useless motor yourself.
Good luck.

That is good advice.

I ended up going with a nine continent motor through ebike.ca, an ebike.ca controller and a ping battery. The system works great, I already have 350 miles logged!

Bionx. They are more expensive, but worth it. I have owned three hub motors in my time. The Bionx is the first one I bought (about 4 years ago) and the only one that is still working.
