Sourcing of GP30EVH cells

Hi all,
Is there any dealer/source of the Vectrix cells in Europe? I need a small amount - one dead after 11000km.
Thanks for hints.

I wouldn't mind keeping 1 as a spare.

To my knowledge, these cells cannot be bought anywhere. If I were you, I'd Try to buy 2nd hand cells from Li conversions.

Re: Sourcing of GP30EVH cells

When I was thinking of trying to isolate and replace some bad cells in my '07 VX-1 I spoke with "AZVectrix" - here on V is for Voltage. He had some loose cells available when I spoke with him - maybe he still has some.

I changed my mind and decided to just replace all of the cells with Lithium-ion cells (CHL 50AH) ... they are on their way here now.

If you decide to put any of the old ones up on Ebay, don't forget to post a link here! ;-)

Re: Sourcing of GP30EVH cells

Has anybody tried contacting http://www.gpbatteries.com/html/front/index.html for replacement cells?

I will just keep riding till it goes bang!

Re: Sourcing of GP30EVH cells

I asked GP Battery Marketing (Germany) GmbH for an offer. They told me that they cannot sell those cells (not in their selling list). The link http://www.gpbatteries.com/html/front/index.html does not lead to the GP30EVH cells. I assume that GP delivers only to commercial customers in large amounts.

Hi
I replaced my NiMH battery for 71 Ah LiFePO4 (Cycle Analyst reading) My NiMH is after 3000 km and before I made usually 30-40 km in Town.
So if someone need some spare cells I can sell for about 10 Euro + shipping. If someone need let me know.
Shipping from Poland.

Re: Sourcing of GP30EVH cells

Hi, I replaced my NiMH pack with LiPO. Since I have a small company, I had the possibility to buy a 10/GP30EVH pack from GP Italy, but I decided to forget NiMH battery. So, if anybody needs some cells, pls let me know. I could sell used parts, more or less 100 available, or if anybody wants brand new, we could find the right way; around 4-6 weeks delivery.

44 x Sky Energy 70Ah can be made to fit in a Vectrix, there are compromises though.
it really just takes money.

I would buy a pack of 9 or 2 just in case.
I had one cell warmed up after 12000km and killed also the next ones to it so I have 3-4 dead cells or maybe 5.

Re: Sourcing of GP30EVH cells

Early next year (2012) I intend to put in 70Ah LiPo batteries and I would also love to know what ranges you are getting at 52kph (30mph). My goal is to get more than 160Km (100 miles).

Electric traction is the future.

Re: Sourcing of GP30EVH cells

I had a 36 cells x 40 Ah LiPO, Kokam. I cannot say max range I have got at fixed speed. I normally drive my VX-1 in town, a lot of stop and go, climb and down, standard range is 100 km. I've never experienced a long test, on highway for instance, at "fixed" speed so far, as soon as I will do that I let you know.

Re: Sourcing of GP30EVH cells

Hi Matt,

I saw today your posting and your video here.
If someone wants to install his Cycle Analyst together with a hall sensor and not with a shunt, can take a look at my posting here:

http://www.elektroroller-forum.de/E-Roller-Forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=641

in a german scooter forum. Sorry for the wrong language, maybe one can translate it via a website translator.

Another idea of me is to fasten the C.A with its central screw at a special handmade alloy holder behind the windshield which is fixed with two of the 4 frontscrews of the windshield. So with some connectors for the cables one could remove it quick and easy from the Vectrix.

best regards

Klaus

Re: Sourcing of GP30EVH cells

I =may= be willing to aggregate cell orders for a product my company is getting ready to start developing. We need the 10 cell packs for a 12 volt power supply for a remote telemetry product.

These would be brand new, from the factory cells.

I don't have freight or other import costs yet, so I can't price cells at the moment, but I'm about to place my first 10 cell order and should have a clue what they are going to cost me. I would expect the per cell cost to y'all to be in the range of $50 per cell, plus shipping to your location in the States.

My goal is to get this product developed first, then figure out where that piece of work is going. If there is enough interest once I know what my company is doing, I may resell cells to build order volumes.

Re: Sourcing of GP30EVH cells

With all the Li conversions Vectrix is doing they have plenty of NiMH stock now. If they are smart then they will sell these to whoever needs them. Just contact them to see what they offer.

Once you go EV, Gas is history!

Re: Sourcing of GP30EVH cells

Very doubtful -- the price breaks are at levels that indicate any Vectrix conversions are a drop in the bucket, and I wouldn't buy a used NiMH cell from a Vectrix unless it was in the $8 to $10 per cell range.

To give you an idea, I think the first break is at quantity 25,000. There are 100 cells in a Vectrix, which means 250 Vectrix conversions is as much as a typical single order. Something to keep in mind.

Now, if someone who's done a conversion here in the States would like to sell me 25 cells for $200, I'd be happy to take them so I don't have to import from Hong Kong for my project.

Re: Sourcing of GP30EVH cells

I've got a full set that I'm dying to get rid of for no charge...just pick them up. Last ride with them did 40km. I just feel terrible if I end up chucking them out.

I'm in Melbourne Australia.

Re: Sourcing of GP30EVH cells

Sorry to misuse your quest for cells but..

I would like a couple of spare cells myself.
I live just north of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

If there is anybody in the neighbourhood (within 300 km from Amsterdam)
who has spare cells to sell, then please contact me.

Thanks,

Charan
