So, I finally got round to accessing my temperature boards and connector in order to damp proof them to avoid a constant temp warning and failure to charge.
To my surprise, I found a loose connector labelled "Ambient Temperature Sensor" underneath the step through cover by the left foot rest. There is no blanking plug on the connector so it seems this may have been left like this in error.
I had noticed some time ago, that the fans no longer came on after a ride in summer and wonder if this could be the reason?
Please can anybody help me with where this connector should be connected and where the ambient temperature sensor is located?. It may have been inadvertently left off during one of its trips to the workshop for battery / range investigations.
Many thanks

Got a photo of it? That would help locate the connector in question!

HI HUBCAP, That looks like the piece that plugs into the harness that is right above where it's at that comes out of the center of the headboard and that piece has all white wires (6 wires in the female part) but the pictures are not that good but I think thats it.COOPER
I have just been advised that this connection was included on very early bikes only and that there was never actually an ambient temp sensor. Problem solved...
