The Leonardo behaves a bit different when connecting it to a usb port for the first time and when flashing it.
It needs to setup the second serial interface but can only do that after waking it up on its first interface...
Glad you managed to figure it out ;-)

Latest issue is that of course since I still have my temperature sensors connected the bike won't charge with the Box plugged in. Is there a way around this, short of taking it apart and unplugging the temp sensors? I kinda like having them ...
Hi!
I can toggle TS between 1 and 0, but Ah shows 64Ah and half bars at the right cluster, although the bike is fully charged (30Ah) with the Magic Box connected.
I can't change the 64Ah information...
If you use a original ESD charger file, there could be a confict with the Gauge bar control if the AH000 setting of the MB is NOT zero. Try to set it to zero and look what happens. Then you need a LAIRD ESD firmware for Li 30aH. Or you can disconnect Temperature boards and then use ESD configurable V1.2
The Ah setting in the MB is only used for guage bar's display control and has no effect on charge.
In normal operation the charger controls the gauge display on the dash. You will have to set the MB AH's to zero to avoid that two devices at the same time control the dash gauge over CAN. Pauls gauge control works only with ESD Conf. V1.2 and with third party chargers.
Do you use software from Dugas for the Runke charger?
If some guy is so gentle to help me, I 've got a problem with canbus
Usb - rs232 wire is ok for my pc (W7) and works
but when I start Vectrix diagnostic, before SW appears on screen, there's always a pop-up that says:
"Error Initializing PCANBasic"
when I click ok, software is opening,
software works but canbus is inactive

Hello, The pictures' links are broken, I cannot see them.
If you are using a normal Usb - rs232, you won't get any success. It is not a valid adapter. To connect scooterdiag to the vectrix, you'll need to buy the original, expensive PEAK usb adapter.
We have a whatsapp discussion group about vectrix, with 40 owners from Spain and Portugal. Main language is spanish, but everybody is wellcome, we may solve your doubts in "real time".
yes, I've used a normal rs232-usb buyed at mall.
is there no way to upgrade it or modify for working on Vx1?
tks
Please read you stuff before doing anything stupid like this !!
Theres is no RS232 interface in the Vectrix but only a CAN-BUS system.
Just because the connector in the glovebox LOOKS like a 9-pin serial connector doesnt mean it is one !!
When using the CAN-BUS ONLY the Peak adapter will work.
All this is mentioned many times in previous posts for the past years...

I know. it is expensive.
I'll save you time, that peak adapter is the only way.
Yes, i'm certain, believe me: there's no other way.
Sure, many people tried to find alternatives for years. no success.
The cheap one, if you plug laptop and vectrix at same time to the AC grid, the laptop burns...
sorry but I'm not expert in PC things
I try to found out in this forum but I haven't match anything
Then just some advise: don't plug anything into anything if you don't know what you're doing.
The Vectrix unfortunately isn't one of those bikes that you can 'play' with.
You could easily ruin the motor controller by even pressing the right button at the wrong time.
It would be a shame if that happens to you and your new bike.
The forum is here to keep everybody riding and enjoying their Vectrix.
And if you can't find the information you need: just ask :-)

Someone knows if somewhere in forum, users are talking about discharge balancing?
Also not in particular in Vectrix area.
I've found no one message about it, also with others words.
Sorry for OT
You mean active balancing, tht means, the cells are always balanced by the BMS?
Thi is what the leaf BMS does, it is always balancing. You may buy one 2nd hand leaf bms for 70 euros and hack it to recognise only 36-38 cells. Not easy, but possible.
Someone knows if somewhere in forum, users are talking about discharge balancing?
"Discharge balancing": Never heard of it.
Its either TOP balancing or BOTTOM balancing meant to have a setpoint to reference cell voltages and capacity when connected in series in a pack.
TOP balancing: all cells have equal maximum voltage at 100% StatOfCharge
BOTTOM balancing: all cells have equal minimum voltage AND capacity at 0% StateOfCharge.
With top balancing the weakest cell in capacity determines the usable pack capacity.
Theres volumes to read about pro's and con's about this subject.
What R means with 'active balancing' is more referred as 'equalizing' or 'shunting' during the charging phase.
This only happens during charging when one or more cells reach their maximum voltages earlier then the rest. This also means you have an im-balanced pack to start with as per default all cells should reach their maximum cell voltages at hte SAME time during charging.

Is there something that is able to balance every single cell, when I use my scooter?
Have you ever feld something like that?

Why would you want that ?
There's is no reason to 'balance' during discharging if your pack is already balanced before during the charging phase.
If you have cells drifting apart during charging/discharging you need to change these anyway because they will fail pretty soon.

Have you tried turning off temp board simulation in the setting's menu?
You can't use the configurable ESD charger firmware with the temp boards connected.
The ESD charging parameter values are send from magic box to charger using the same CAN adress as the temp boards.
I have a new bike, it's a 30A Gold Peak lipo4 Vectrix.
My Magic Box was configured to a 30A NIMH pack. Is it compatible with the new bike?
EDIT:
I have connected the Magicbox to my new Li 30A and it has that counter problem (every 5 senconds or so).
I have tryed to flash the 1.61 vesion from https://app.box.com/s/8z1c1b9009abwyv5r2sl044uvjw1kwev/1/4956988541 but still not working.
Please help.
Best regards
Has the new scooter the temperature boards still connected? TS must be set to 0 then in Magic Box. Did you try to toggle this setting?

Everything is stock on this bike. All components firmware are Vectrix original and are the latest versions.
Stock BMS
Magicbox version 1.61
I have mentioned the charging process because it resets the Magicbox counters.
Any ideas?
