I had the CAPCUR message on my dashboard a few days ago, so I took the MC board out to check the 40A fuses. It checked out: one of them is gone.
I have a spare MC board which I've never tested (but really hope it works) and I just found out now that it's slightly different.
Does anyone know what that small added PCB does? The one with the "extra" is what I've been using (having the broken fuse now), a more recent version I guess...
I'm sorry if the answer is already in the forum somewhere but I can't remember seeing it before...
The small pcb is the so called '8mA killer'. Without it the MC draws 8mA leakage current.
Thanks for the info hybride, I guess I'll have to live with that leakage until I manage to get my original MC fixed.
With 8mA leakage the batterie will lose about 1 Ah in 5 days. My Scooter with CALB cells has even more leakage because the BMS takes extra current. I had it once that the i was fooled by the batterie indicator after some downtime. Stranded with empty batterie :-( Now, after a week or more downtime, i always charge batteries before going on a a longer ride.
ESD charger code has a compensation factor for the 8mA leakage. When you turn on the scooter, leakage is calculated and abstracted from the fuel bar. For Runke i don't know. If you use Dugasengineering firmware you could ask David Dugas about this.
I've got a Runke charger but I don't think leakage is going to be a big issue for me as I use the bike daily, never have too long downtimes.
Not sure about the fuel bar yet: it shows empty now as I just swapped the MC boards.
Switched to the Dugas-firmware now, so I will have to re-learn and get used to the "new behaviour" of the fuel bar and range indicator (never really trusted them anyway, displaying the voltage gives a lot better info :) )
