Making my own Electric-Assited Bicycle: Crystalyte Phoenix, 3640 Controller, LiPO batteries

Okay, so due to a variety of circumstances, I am trying the electric-assisted bicycle route. I have a Crystalyte Phoenix rear hub motor mounted on a wheel, a 3640 (36V) controller, and a half-twist throttle (all purchased from electricrider about 1.5 years ago). I have ordered a 20amp/hour LiPO battery set and charger from electricrider. I just acquired a cheap, used Schwinn cruiser frame and wheels.

Wish me luck!

Oh, I also ordered some corrsion-x lubricant spray to coat the components from rain. I will do what I can to seal them otherwise too.

Need Giant LaFree Part.

I just picked up a pair of LaFree bikes, one works real good, the other I found that the throttle position controller is shot. Anyone know where I can get one? Will other TPC's work?

Thanks, Deron.

Question about using different throttles

Hello everyone, I reciently saw a post in here where a controller which was setup to use the 5K Ohm throttle could be converted to use a hall effect throttle by incorporating a 5v regulator. Could anyone elaborate on this? or would anyone know how to do this? I have an idea but am not sure. Thanks in advance for any help.

Dog carrier for bicycle, and some nice V visibility

One of my favorite podcasts just mentioned me... Beach Walk #555 - Lexi’s Limo Buys Carbon Offsets Lexi and Rox go bicycle green. What happened is they recently started a community side of their podcast site, The Reef, and on that site I started an Electric Vehicles subgroup, with a link pointing to V.

Riding in the rain shorted out my ebike

I have a rear wheel XLyte hub BLDC Motor. I use a 72V 20amp controller. I have two 36V SLA in series (so 72V total).

Merida modifications?

Helps if I post this in the correct forum:)

I just picked up a Merida 550 at a yard sale, it was cheap at $50.00. Being a 2002 model and not taken care of by the owner the batteries were shot, even though you could see by the tires the bike only had a few miles on it. Could not get the original 12V 9Ah batteries, but I found some Power Sonic 6V 9Ah batteries that I could stuff in the case. I'm guessing this is a good brand of battery from the information on the internet about them.

Crusin' in the snow

I haven't been riding the MB-1-E much lately, it's been raining here in Washington a lot. If it would just snow instead of rain, I'd take it out for a trial run in the snow. I guess I should ask Dave W for some tips on that.
Do any of you ride in the snow?
I was checking out some studded tires the other day, now if I could just figure out how to make a nice front ski with shocks, that would be a blast.

IZip Trails Enlightened - can I add LiIon pack to its NiMH system?

I think I want to add a LiIon or NiMH battery pack over the rear wheels of the IZip Trails Enlightened ($1150 US)

The salesman at TheSuperkids.com told me that is impossible which we know is not true =). Jes wonderin how it hooks up, and if LiIon can be put in parallel with the NiMH system?

Best Set up for Dog Scooter?

Hello all...
I posted once about this just before the site crashed, so I can't find the post or the helpful responses I received. So, here I am again with my slightly unique scenario:
