Electric Bike / Pedelecs - MOTOR to Sproket suggestions / pic's wanted.

I'm on my second edition of a scratch built eletric bike. The first setup was a sprocket bolted to the spokes with fabricated motor mount on the left side of the rear wheel. The system worked good on the premise the motor had low rolling resistance, so that when I wasn't using the motor, the bike could still be pedaled. The motor was a small 24volt - from a bike scooter - slow acceleration / slow speed. It wasn't quite geared right, the motor didn't spin up to speed and was working too hard. It was quite fun, but not enough torque or speed. (Top end was 16mph)

Got a chance to try out Golden Motors brushless 500 watt hub motor

Green Motors in Berkeley lent a neighbor of mine a bike to try out with a Golden Motors brushless 500 watt 36 volt rear hub motor. Nice looking set up. I got a chance to try it out, and it has a lot of torque for a fairly inexpensive set up. Top speed was only 18 MPH on a 26 inch wheel bike, so they must have geared them for hill climbing. Acceleration was very good as well. I wonder what it would do at 48 volts! I went up a 20 % grade hill almost as fast as I can with my BMC 900 watt set up.

emtb.com.au downhill bikes with E hubs

Hi all,
My name is Bryan, and i am new to the E bike world. I do alot of cycling and would love to have an E bike to ride this summer.

I have been looking in to www.emtb.com.au looks like fun. I have an Orange patriot that i would like to power up. looks like finding a place to put the batteries is going to be a tuff part.

any sugestions on things to look out for when using a 2kw rear hub motor, would be appreciated. also do you think that the LiFePO4 batteries would work well in this application?
thanks again
B

EBIKE EV GLOBAL BIKE NEED PARTS , LOVE,Brains

I have a 24 Volt model EBIKE made by Lee EV Global. It does not run. Seems controller is shot? No lights, horn, battery gadge.... Can I make it 36 Volts ? or 48,72 ? etc ? Since I seem to need to replace everything except 400 watt Hiensman hub engine what can I do ? where can I get a parts kit ? I see some generic controlers on EBAY which one ?...anyone do this > Engine works and battery is good just want to get running. Bike is in good shape except electronics.

Thanks

Newbie-Cyclone USA in business?

After lurking around this great site for several weeks I decided to go with the Cyclone 500W kit. I placed an order through Cyclone-usa.com. I then got a confirmation number in an email back from them in the subject line, but nothing in the body of the email telling me when it would be shipped, carrier, "thanks for your order", nothing at all.

I started looking around and found a post somewhere saying that Cyclone USA is out of business..

newbie searching for advice

Springs around the corner,my ebike interests are waxing again . Not to mention gas hovering around 4 bucks. I'm hoping to get good advice on a setup that fits my needs[wants=) . Originally I was into the non ebike looking Izip enlightened line, then the bionx system ,but they are both 'sealed' applications that aren't modifiable.

Its $2,000, has a 250-Watt motor using 26-volts, its a ped-elec so you HAVE to pedal to get power, it doesn't have a rear suspension or front disc brakes...AND...for $2,000, it only goes 15 MPH !! and did I mention...ITS 2,000 freakin dollas !!

BOSCH 36v battery anyone ?

:? Has anyone used the BOSCH 36v battery ? It is 2.0 AH vs 2.3 with the dewalt packs but they are on average $50 cheaper.. for $150 a piece with the dewalt packs, with 4 packs thats 600, where as you can get 6 with the BOSCH. Even with the slightly lower AH for the BOSCH the 2 extra packs are bound to outweigh ( literraly, lol ) the life of 4 Dewalts.. What do you think ? :?

EV Global ebike Problem

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with EV Global ebikes. I have the owners manual and the dealers manual (that only really deals with assembly). I'm wondering if a schematic and service manual are available.

After a long winter I'm looking to get my ebike working again and am having difficulties.

I have a 36 Volt EV Global ebike. I also have a bad 24 Volt model that I can sometimes use for parts.

claimed-The best electric bike

Optibike has been declared the best el. bike.
