Oh brother... British people... Always against the international rules and systems..

!!!!!!! I say, steady on,old chap! It's those international blighters that are against the sensible rules we gave 'em! Contrary bastards! (sigh) Still, can't really blame 'em , haven't the same standards,y'know! I blame the Americans...Ah, time for my G&T and a little cricket.

Vectrix,

Just wanted tp say how helpful Steve Scott has been. I know there are problems with the bike - I've experienced most of them by now _ and of course problems about the future. However, Steve has been great to deal with so far.

I just wish he had more time to get onto my bike and sort it's range problems.

Hi Dave, It's me conducting the analysis on your bike. Changing a suspect bit, taking it for test rides, analysing data, changing another bit, more test rides and so forth to try and isolate the root cause of the problem. So far nothing is showing a glaring fault but I am still working away at it. There has been some improvement but not enough for me to be happy with.

Cheers,

Forgive me for being cynical, but isn't it a bit odd for a 'Technical Supervisor' to contact his customers for a chat about the progress of in shop maintenance on a forum? Isn't just a bit "hey look we're still here and we've even got someone to talk to? What exactly are you trying to prove? Asking a few friends, and supporters, (I notice Dave Hamment has joined 3 days ago)to praise your efforts in public, isn't the same thing as suppling a statement from your Boss (John Schnoor) as to the availability of spare parts etc.. Perhaps you could publish a spare parts list, with prices for all forum readers to see and access?

Now this would be really useful, I know it's nice to see photo's of you pottering around in the UK, but can you actually provide spare parts for South Africa, Australia, NZ, US etc ??(and I don't mean advertising stickers).

P/s The photo's were good though, I especially liked the three wheeler, it shows what Vectrix could have achieved !

Just FYI. I contacted VUK (from the US) last week about getting the rear bracket for a 3rd party storage box and they got back to me with the parts and shipping. I only passed on the part because shipping was nearly as much as the part itself, but clearly they do have parts in stock and are willing to ship elsewhere in the world of V.

Thank you, for your input, but that doesn't really answer the question. A rear bracket for a storage box, may be useful but it not exactly an essential component. I was hoping for a Spare parts list of what is and is not available, and prices. This would be really useful.

If VUK, want to retain spare parts just UK for customers, why not say so? That's perfectly understandable. With the board decision so close, they may not be in position to say, but a list would still be useful.

Actually, you would appear to be my biggest, or at least busiest fan, of your 17 posts so far, 15 have been in response to my contributions.

Anyway nice to see you back, with or without your ass.

Marco Polo, Trust you to find yet another negative. No doubt if the Technical Supervisor did not respond on here you would be saying its a bit odd that he didn't respond. You are so obviously a man with an agenda, and you spoil this forum, in my personal view, by pursuing it on here.

Umph... let's imagine Rebel posts a name. So? Marcopolo won't admit being that name, and on the other hand, we can't be sure that Rebel is telling the truth. We all know Marcopolo's way, as HubCap points out:

MIk finds Marco's posts interesting. That's ok to me. In my opinion there's no point in messing things up, no further. I propose instead to keep on focusing on Vectrix's future. Rebel, can you tell us your "guess" about the future of Vectrix? Will vectrix "save" the world?
Many thanks in advance...

Re: Vectrix UK

Must be a UK thing, Yeah I have a secret agenda! I want a list of Spare Parts and Prices!

Despite all their furious UK supporters abuse, I still think it is very odd that VUK don't want to publish a list of spare parts!

Why is a list of available spare parts, "not useful"????

If VUK don't want to publish a list of parts for whatever reason, why not say so? Why does VUK seem able to chat with customers, using this forum, but not post something useful, like a list of spare parts, for everyone?

What's negative about a list of spare parts?? If VUK can't or don't want to, just say so. I didn't ask them to offer, VUK made the claim, I am just taking them up on it!

Good morning,

Marco Darling, why all this huff and puff regarding a parts list?? You told us that the the VUK boys doing maintenance out of a shed!
You told us, you as a shareholder ( even tiny ) can get Info from the Vectrix Chairman!
SO! WHY ARE NOT USING YOUR SUPERB CONNECTION TO GET HOLD OF THE PARTS LIST FROM VUK???

Or just call Steve or Doug, they would love to help you!

Well Marcopolo, as has been said on here previously anyone (including you) can contact us at VUK and tell us what they need. If we have have it we will provide the customer with the price of the part and shipping. What's the problem with that? It has worked for so many without a whimper. We cannot and will not publish a full inventory list with prices as that list would change daily and quite frankly we are not going to post an updated list every 24 hours just for the sake of making it available, plus we are not an online shopping site.

So email, call, do what you have to if you need a part. We are more than willing to try and accomodate. Of course you would have to use your real name and contact details and this may not be something you wish to share outside of your own shallow world. Unfortunately we only have parts here otherwise I would make a special offer to you on a life. It is apparent you really need to get one.

Good Grief, another VUK, cheer squad !! Setting aside all the gratuitous personal abuse, and since Steve and Doug seem amazingly shy, perhaps you can tell me what's so secret about posting a list of spare parts (with prices)!? Why does the "Vectrix Technical Manager" need you to answer for him?

I will remind you that VUK started this by offering spare parts etc... So tell me, what's so unreasonable about asking for a list of spare parts? A list everyone can access, not just those visiting VUK's shed? Why should Vectrix owners in South Africa, NZ, Australia, USA waste time and expence of calling the UK, for information about parts, that are probably not available?

If VUK can't, won't or would prefer to preserve those spares they still have for UK customers , we'll understand! Just say so? But Steve or Doug, not the UK cheer squad!

Re: Vectrix UK

Good Morning

I am not going to be dragged into this argument about posting a parts list on this forum.
Like its been said a number of times if you want parts call the office or email and we will tell you availabilty ,cost and shipping costs.
I fail to see why this is so difficult.
To be quite frank i dont care who you are or what your agenda is but if you are a Vectrix owner and you require assistance we will do what we can under the circumstances.
Unlike the illusive rebel I dont know who you or him are but you do seem very informed.
Anyway you still haven't joined us for that coffee yet and this week we also have chocolate digestives (plain) and hob nobs so you need to be qwick or Doug will eat the lot.
Thats the only inventory i can divulge.

Well there you are, a reply, and setting aside Doug's evident pique, a perfectly reasonable reply! I would have thought it easier and more convienient to have included a list on VUK's website and update it daily, but obviously it is easier to answer enquiries. Thank you for explaining.

Steve, I am really looking forward to returning to old Dart, and visiting your shed! I shall make an occasion of it! Maybe be I could bring a Fortnum's hamper? In the meantime, I am still in the South Pacific and time has a different meaning here. I am leaving Samoa for the Cook Islands, where hopefully, I can use my Mazda MX 5 EV (when ever the NZ conversion is finished). Most of the small island nations are perfect for EV use since the roads are flat, and the range is very limited. In most of the formerly British Islands electric infratructure is very good indeed.

Re: Vectrix UK

Steve,

Good to see you and Doug here on the forum. I am glad that things still seem to be ticking along. I'd like to say that my VX-1 is still roaring along - 6700 miles now, thanks to you and Doug for your work a while ago.

Scott; great pics of the guys at work - I should have thought of doing that. What was the VX-2 like?

Marcopolo; I don't get the chance to comment every day on this forum but I do continue to read it with interest when I get the time. I am happy to pop up out of the woodwork on the odd occasion (ref your earlier posts). Steve and Doug have shown their 'faces' on here. Can you remind me what's stopping you from doing the same? Without wishing to sound at all condescending, I'd like to thank you for your more considerate approach of late!

On went the winter jacket this morning, in fact I still have bike boots and trousers on beneath my desk at work... brrrr.

Oh, and an open invitation/recharge point to those who can make it to Petworth, West Sussex, best of British. We have Twinings tea (or Coco Cafe hot chocolate if you prefer), scones and posh cakes and a 900 acre (360 hectare) country park to enjoy eating it in. Tempted?

Keep up the good work,

Kind invite, shame I'm 45 miles away. On the old software I'd would have made the distance with 5 miles to spare. I think I can squeeze out only about 35 miles now.

We have a few meet-ups with the BMW-C1 Club, sounds nerdy I know, but it's a good laugh. Though of course we don't have the range constraints, just as well as one member comes down from the Midlands.

Maybe we should organise a UK V1 meet up sometime. Perhaps somewhere within range of the few of us in the South East, with a strategically placed charging point if that were possible. Of course, owners from further afield would be very welcome too.

I really encorauge all of you to organize a vectrix meeting. It is absolutely incredible to ride surrounded by vectrix's...
Each vectrix has a slightly unique sound... It is a pleasure for me to ride next to many other vectrix and discover these minimal diferences...

Ooooh I wish, never been to NZ, despite working for ANZ for 22 years!

Seriously though, anyone in the South East of England want to either post here or PM me their town/area and I'll work out a mutually range advantageous meet up point and contact a suitable eatery willing to roll out some charging points for us.

Sound good?
