My brother is owning a 2008 unit. We parked our vectrix toghether, so I could have the chance to take pictures of a pair of differences:
1) The kill switch in the 2007 edition is inverted. (2007 above)
2) The charger plugs in the 2007 unit are pig-tail connectors, in the 2008 there are waterproof box connectors. (2007 above)

3) In the 2008 Vectrix there is a label placed behind the fork that shows the month and year of manufacture, in this case, september 2007. In my 2007 Vectrix there is no label.
That is strange about the kill switch...I have a 2007 and the kill is in the up position like the picture of the '08 above. Must have made changes mid year. I bought mine used, but the original owner bought it in June 2008 directly from Vectrix USA.

What serial number do you have? do you have the front white label?
I've find a 2008 unit in catalunya with a white label saying: 00214 June 2007. My vectrix is 00249. I've received it in april 2007. There was a restart in the numbers!!
On the other hand, there's another 2009 unit hanging around here with 2623. That means that Vectrix has build at least 2872 vectrix!
I've received confirmation that the 00214 June 2007 unit has pig tail charger connetors. there must be a place between 00214 and 01494 where happened the change.
Vectrix 00361 has pigtails...
The gap is narrowing 00361-01494-
What date of production do you have 00361?
My is 1477 and has waterproof box connectors.
My 1161 from August 2007 has the white label, the waterproof connector and the 2008 kill switch you have to flip UP to kill it

Now we know the gap is between 00364 and 01161, 2nd wave.
I've located also a 00275 unit in Barcelona from the first 2007 production wave, now the total amount of known vectrix is 02623 from 2nd 2007-2009 wave plus 275 from the 2007 first, totalling 2898 bikes.. nearly 2900!!
On the other hand, I've located the date of my bike next to the rear VIN, in a bar-coded white label. The 00249 unit is from 15-05-2007, therefore I've received my vectrix in late May 2007, not late April 2007. Sorry for the mistake!
Sticker, behind the front wheel, says September 2008.
Bizar, my serial is 2288 and that sticker says Oktober 2008 in my case..
or would they really have produced 1500pcs in one month?? Or maybe I got the wrong number..

I think they did, because of the discount price at that time, they had many customers. I had to wait 2 months, after I paid in full, to get my bike.
Andy, It came to my attention that the sticker, photographed and shown above (in the first post of this thread) says:
VIN:...01494 and date: september 2007, that VIN is extremely close to yours, and there's a year of difference between this and yours.

I don't think vehicle numbers are necessarily in chronological or continuous order.
They might have jumped over a few hundred numbers without producing any vehicles; as long as no two have the same number they can probably do that!

I was really aware about this jump. This is why I'm looking for more Vin serial/Date, to have more info about these gaps. Any new data will be really wellcome!
Today I've found a special VIN: 00435 July 2008!!
It seems that the vectrix have been build in 3 waves instead of two.
In sumary, the total amount of known vectrix:
00275 1st wave 2007
01494 2nd wave 2007
02623 3rd wave 2008-2009
totalling 4392 bikes.. nearly 4300!!
That's a lot of vectrix... Mik, maybe you're right: there might be some jumps in the serials numbers...
Comparing the 2007 and 2008 labels, the recomended pressure has increased 1 PSI in each tyre.... :-)
A couple more VIN's, dates for you. Both w kill switch as shown.

Have they fixed the rider weight error on the label as well? It is cut off in your photo.

The 00806 July 2007 vectrix is important to fill the pigtail gap: Does the charger have pigtail connectors or waterproof connectors?

Mik, nobody doubts that your fantastic contributions are extremely useful to V owners, AND also to the vectrix designers... I'm sure Claudio is reading all this Visfor posts...
Can you have a look at the "newer" labels with attention to the rider weight?
Maybe the correction of the weight error can shed further light on the order of events!

I apologise, I don't have easy access to a 2008-2009 3rd wave unit. Maybe somebody in this forum with vx-1 2009 edition can help.
However in the posted labels there's one difference: The 2nd 2007 PNBV is 938 Lbs / 462,4 kg and the 3rd 2008-2009 PNBV is 939 Lbs / 426 kg.
In catalunya I've located 4 1st, 4 2nd, and 9 3rd, 4 more VIN still unknown. The people with 2007 bikes are reporting increased range (10-15 km more) thanks to new software EQ. The batteries are being recovered!...
If your Vectrix is a 2007 unit, it would be a nice idea to upgrade your software...

Very easy: put your face down next to the front wheel and have look upwards to the ceiling: You will see the following pictures:
2007 pigtail connector, picture from above
2007-2009 waterproof box connector.
If you have waterproof connector you will see a pair of twin Gray boxed connectors, like the last picture.
You can take for granted you have waterproof.

I'm suspecting that the 00435 July 2008 is an anomaly. maybe a retooled vectrix.
If I get more Vin's I'll be able to build an excel with generic VIN/date chronology, and know if there has been 2 or 3 waves of vectrix production.
Mine says July 2007, no. 858 and has waterproof box connectors.
