Another difference... The metallic cable has different texture: the 2007 the texture is bigger and it easily gets deformed. The 2008 textures is more dense, and keeps it's shape perfectly:

this morning I left home to commute as usual, batteries full (did a deep discharge yesterday), full throttle up the bridge (I live just down one), and at about 70-80 km/h the bike lost all power.
Lights on the dash kept burning for a second or two, and then faded, speedo stuck at 70km/h.
Pushed it back home (DAMN its heavy, even downhill!), and left for work again.
So, I think the fuse went.
Now there are two possibilities:
1) I have a 125A fuse (although my serial ends with 2285, (explains the relevance to this thread))
2) I have a 200A fuse, and I'm the first to blow it?
I'll contact my dealer and let you know..

Turok, very interesting post!
Your 2285 bike is from october 2008, the month when vectrix started installing the 200A upgrade fuse. If your bike has the 125A, we'll have precise reference about when the upgrade was made. NIce your dealer is honoring the waranty!
pd: your serial number begins with SZCAA or SCZA1?
When I inquired about warranty, my dealer actually reacted as if Vectrix was never out of business :-) Like "of course, why not.."
I asked him if the fuse was easy to get, because I dont want the bike to sit around too long, but he had to get back to me.
If it would take weeks/months, I'd have to look for Miks post where he bought non-Vectrix fuses and put them in myself.

I'm back on the road, it was the fuse (and it still was a 125A).
My dealer (EV-start, Antwerp BE) has been very helpful, great service, he did a full checkup too, no charges whatsoever.
I'm happy as a child, I missed my V! (I got back on a 125CC ICE for a month, and I can tell you that it SXXXS!)

Yesterday I've found a december 2008 vectrix with the new charger... The charger in now a simple metalbox with an cooling plate, and a bigger fan. There's no accessible box connectors (how do we do a manual hard resset now?) According to the local dealer, this new fan is pretty noisy...
The picture has ben taken with a cellphone I'll try to take better pictures.

So is that the "Gold" charger as opposed to the "Silver" charger Antiscab mentioned recently?

I'm posting some pictures with better quality. This Runke 162 is from a december 2008 unit which had it's original charger burned, and was replaced with the new type.
This beautiful bike is a march 2010 vectrix, which had a factory installed runke 189. I guess runke refers to the type of charger, and the digits may be the serial number of the charger.
Do you have this kind of charger installed in your Vectrix?
I still have the old charger, hoping it will last long as warranty will end this year.
Interesting: the fixing of the airintakes have been changed. Mine have screws instead
bolts.
Just checked mine for a label. Vin ...1011, July 2007. Not pigtail, but the gray waterproof box.

Never seen another Vectrix around here, Charlotte, NC.
Mine is registered 02412, October 2008. Purchased in march.

very interesting: Domi422, does your vectrix have the white decals typical from 2009?
Turok, does your 2285 october 2008 have the 2009 white decals?
No it's a silver 2008, without the white decals.

How to locate the date of production in a first generation of vectrix? It does not have front white label!
Next to the rear VIN there's another white label with a bar code. In this label appears the date of production. In my case, 2007-05-15.

your VIN seems very early, how come you scored the new software and I didn't?
dunno, probably was loaded on as they knew mine was an old one.
maybe they thought yours already had it?
i looked at the date codes,
on the white bar-code sticker, mine says 2007-07-09
on the label stamped into the chasis, e11-2006
