simple wiring help brake lights, running lights, turn signal

aa_paint__brake_tail_and_turn.jpg

I have most of the wiring figured out for my rear lights. Now, how do I wire the brake lights, when I apply my brakes will my turn signal not flash. For me the easy way would be to just run a third light for my brake light. It looks to me that automotive flasher, has 2 prongs, should be run like this, does it over ride the brake signal and keep just one of the lights flashing, will both lights flash if I hit the brakes?

Anyone know the proper wiring diagram to do this?

Thanks,

chuck

Your signal wiring is correct. Just have the brake switch, switch positive to both signal lights in a separate positive circuit. That way the flasher will not be in the circuit for the brake light switch.

I don't know if this is a good idea though because you might want to signal when you are slowing down with the brake a lot.

Dear Chuck.

I have made many electrical diagrams to put in my vehicle (Land Rover serie I, 1956), it has the genuine red lamps, it were made only with brake and tail lamps; now is necesary turn signal.
There is a special swich that to finish with your problem ...... I have the plane of these one, but I was tinking a lot. If you want, send an e-mail and I´ll send you my plane, but to build the swith isn´t easy.
If you want, enter in www.evparts.com, and show the item SW9510 (turn & brake signal lever, 7 wires) ..... very beautiful, I have these one.

Bye
ADRIAN
