Electric bikes, bicycles and pedelecs

I just installed an ampedbike hub motor on my bike, and the throttle has a 3 LED meter that is supposed to gauge battery level, but so far, as long as the power is on, all 3 lights are lit. The way it's supposed to work is that the green shows full charge, the yellow means the battery is getting weak, and the red indicates empty. They're not all supposed to be lit at the same time. The motor and controller came as a kit, and the battery was a separate purchase, but everything is 36V.

This is one of their models.. any one experience with the brand or bike?

Im not sure if Nicom are the people who manufactor the bike , so im hoping someone could shed some light on this.

I am planning on towing a child carrier to carry the treasures that I find at yard sales, hence my requirement for a system that can handle stress and provide the torque required. I am trying to determine the best wheel size, hub motor, controller, and battery configurations to accomplish this task without over heating the system.

I'm looking for a replacement Heinzmann black box 36V battery for my Estelle electric bike. Does anyone know where I can find one?

Looking for a new battery for a Stella electric bike. The battery is 36V/5Ah lead acid, I assume gell. It measures 16 1/2" x 4 1/2" wide x 3" deep.

Simple? question ... I am using my Watts Up meter from the RC Planes I do. Have hooked it up to the Bike with the 3 wire setup I found on the internet . Works Fine ...

So ...... Why would anyone ever use it in the 4 wire setup ??? Seems harder to do and less safe for the 4 wire setup ... So ... Is there some advantage to the 4 wire hookup I do not know ???

Just posted an add in the marketplace forum for a 2008 Ezee Sprint -- $900 for everything or $400 just for the electronics (plus shipping). Bike needs a new battery but is otherwise in great shape.

With all the hubub about the plug-in Prius, I thought it would be fun to look at how many more people you could move if you took the same lithium cells used in one of those vehicles and used 'em on ebikes instead. (I'm trying to make the case for ebikes as a legitimately green way of getting folks out of their cars.)
