Here's a schematic for a very simple 20V-to-60V DC input to 12V DC output.
All the parts are available at digikey.com and the
parts cost is less than $15 (not counting the circuit board).
I may decide to make a circuit board if I can find some spare time
This same circuit can be used to make a 5V DC output regulator by just
changing the LM2576HV-12 to an LM2576HV-5 and a 6V regulator can be made
by adding a single resistor to the regulator's feedback path of the
5V regulator circuit.

So. During an apartment move to a bigger but half price crib i lost the 48tooth chainring i got like 4 months ago.
During some major rummaging i found it under a bunch of dvds Finally! Right away took the ring and ride to Revolution Cycles before forgetting again. ended up leaving the front derailleur on as a chain guide for now. The result is total perfect cadence compared to before . Dogman's comment had me concerned about not being able to ride hill if the
motor died . I tested this and the 24 cog was suitable for this hilly area with 0 assist. So far so Good :)

Rather that being a step by step "how to", this blog post is more of a resume of how I repaired my XB-600 motor after the wires were cut.
When the axle spun, my tab washers were damaged on the inside....in fact, the tab washer did not moved ....the motor axle as spun in the tab washers too.

I managed to mount the motor on the bike so I was ready to get key in and try it ! So I went outside, put the batteries in and then it worked ! But only for a few feet. After 1 second or two the power would cut off. I was not sure at that time what was the problem, so instead of dismantling the bike again, I just plugged in the charger. After about an hour charging the bike, I went outside for a second test...and it worked ! I was able to ride a bit around the house. So I plugged it in again, for about another hour.

WINGOVER, is a 40"x 31" modified 1993 CROWTHER TWIGGY trimaran
She is having a full refit this year
I hope to be abble to take out the Yanmar 1gm10 6Cv diesel engine and replace by two electric pods to have a much better mobility and less noise and vibrations.
Project can be cut in 3
- Batteries
For the moment Lipo 48v/80 Amp/h is the choice, Pb is much too heavy for such a light racing vessel.
Could be this :

So I finally received the parts I needed to fix the motor on my bike frame. Dealing with Extreme Support on that issue was a pain.
First, when they sent the motor, there were no spacers, nuts and tab washers. I asked Extreme for parts : "needed to fix the motor on the bike frame". They sent me part number "XB600-160R" Rear Break Assembly.

Hello,
I am looking into a getting a 36v 10AH pack from Shockley. They sell there stuff on ebay and on http://www.EcoForumZ.com/.
It comes with a nice case, charger and BMS. I asked about the cells used, and they said they are new foil pack 3.2v cells. Has anyone heard of them? Is anyone using this pack? I attached a picture.
From Ebay:

Hello,
I am a newbie who just purchased my first e-bike conversion kit. I picked up the Phoenix 5304 hub motor with a 40 amp controller. The battery been used is a duct tape 48v 20ah pack. I converted my bike and everything worked fine my first time out........until I started to smell smoke :(. I looked over the battery pack it was fine, not even warm. I then inspected the BMS which basically melted. The solder was dripping off the BMS like water!
I did some testing, and believe it or not the BMS still works. After my testing I decided to do the following.

Hello Tireiron55,
I wanted to ask you what is the estimated top speed of your 1000 scooter
using 60 volts?
Also, I ride a lot in downtown San Diego both on the street and sidewalk
and have never been stopped by the police. Of course there is a first
time for everything. I guess maybe I'm just lucky. It is a real drag
you're being stopped so much.
