Head-head the A2B Metro and EMS Elite bicycles

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to test ride these two electric bicycles. I'd had a chance to ride the A2B a couple times, but only around the block. The EMS bike on the other hand is a design with several years of development, derived from the Tidalforce bike from several years ago, and while I know it by reputation had never seen it in the flesh. Both are very powerful bikes and I'm rather impressed by both.

Final thoughts on the VeloMini

Hey all, I've kept looking at the VeloMini and spent a fair bit of time riding it around. Have just posted an article with an in-depth review: Review of the VeloMini folding electric bicycle

You may remember from my initial postings that I didn't like the seat and to be honest after that first long ride with it, I was a bit put off by it. Looking more closely the seat does appear to be "high end" e.g. with the kind of notch in the middle you tend to see on the fancier bikes. It's just that for my butt I've learned to go for wider seats, and this one is too skinny. Switching out the seat made all the difference in the world. Not only was the other seat more comfortable but, because it's a taller seat, I was able to ride higher without having the seat tube as high. With that issue out of the way the bike really shone very well.

I took it on a long run with the throttle at full - the motor didn't warm up even a tiny bit. Says to me the motor is well capable of handling the power this bike throws at it.

Took it on a trip up to San Francisco, 8-9 miles total distance with several long resting periods during the day. It still had plenty of power at the end of the day though the battery pack was clearly heading towards running out.

It's very solidly built, performs well, light weight, easy to carry around, comes with a useful set of accessories (shoulder strap, carrying case, tool kit), and so on.

Lee Iacocca, EVG or EV Global e-bike/ebike --36volt ... new battery time

I bought this for my wife, child and myself about 2-3 years ago. It had a new SLA battery, it worked find.
I added the xtracycle to it--and it really works well for us. It is wonderful. Well, it was.
This last winter killed the SLA battery. Time for a new battery.

I'm also thinking new chemistry as well for the battery.

Shimano announces the STEPS electric bicycle "group set"

See: Shimano announces the STEPS electric bicycle "group set"

This is a set of parts ("group set") that Shimano appears to mean to sell to bicycle makers. It's a neatly integrated 250 watt hub motor, controller, brakes, bottom bracket, battery pack, etc that it would appear to allow a bicycle maker to just slap on a frame and have an electric bicycle.

The battery pack is a surprisingly small 24 volt 4 ah ...

The VeloMini, a very cool little folding electric bicycle - initial review

The VeloMini (http://velomini.com/) is a new electric bicycle coming to the US and the distributor has lent me a review copy for a couple days. I'll be doing up some review-like postings here and I'm very curious what questions y'all have for things I should try out. I may be able to get it again next week but at the moment it has to go back on Friday.

EV Global Motors 24V EBIKE - need schematics, repair docs, parts lists, batt pack build assistance

Hi (My first post here, too...)

It looks like I may get my hands on an EV Global Motors 24V EBIKE shortly.
It has no batteries, the front brake assembly is missing parts,
and may have controller or hub issues...

Where can I find:
A) Schematics (exp hub and controller!)?

B) A parts breakdown (exploded view, etc.), so I can determine what I need?

suede e battery/charger

I'm looking at a year-old Suede E with a battery that's likely toast. The seller charged it for 24 hours, and the bike exhibited some power assist for a few minutes before the cutoff kicked in. The battery is showing 36 volts on a voltmeter, but the controller displays only one LED. The battery was left unattended for the last year. Plugging the charger in yields only a pulsating red LED. From all the problems I've read regarding this model I'm reluctant to buy it, even at the $250 asking price. I've been unable to locate a downloadable manual for this bike. Any help would be appreciated.

48V 800W E-Scooter offer

A) Body cover is especially for gas motorcycle. Completely PP and ABS plastic cover.
B) Safety performance is completely meet the demands of motorcycle, the normal E-motorcycle can't compare with ours.
C) The frame of our E-motorcycle is just the frame of motorcycle, not like other E-motorcycle's suppliers in China. This means our price is higher than theirs.
D) The coating of frame is handled by special anti-rusting process.
E) The battery we use is maintenance free.
