Well it's been about 3 weeks, and I haven't touched the bike for about 2 of the three. I finally had to stop neglecting all the other things I should be doing, so the bike has been back burnered for a while. I have completed the fabrication of the battery rack. Final welding still needs to be done.

Man :? ! Went riding with my Buddy Dom to see that new Jet Li/Jackie Chan matinee . As he is only runnin man power so far i stay in 0 or gen1 . I always leave the battery attached per the guy whom installed it,plus we're in a good neiborhood. Cool Movie, I thought Jet was retiring from acting and just gonna direct, I'm glad he hasn't retired yet , he portrays a really mischievous ,playful Monkey King, and as always he steals the show . I had the 90 dollar popcorn and snuck in with a water.

I was just in Prague for the last 1 1/2 weeks. Most of the time I was spending 12+ hrs/day in a pair of conferences (open source software).. but I did manage to see quite a bit of the city.
Prague is an old city having been settled over 1000 years ago. That sure gives an interesting perspective on "history" considering that "historical" buildings in California tend to be about 100 yrs old, having 1000+ years of history behind a city puts a very different spin on it.

I ordered two new 20Ah LiFePO4 cells from Sam at Yesa on Tuesday to replace the two that were damaged (see "Fire is Bad"). Cost was $70 per cell and shipping from Hong Kong was $45. The cells arrived last night along with an individual cell charger. Sam asked me to send him a picture of the cell arrangement in the pack so he could have the tabs soldered in the correct orientation.
The red arrows indicate the bad cells.

I took my damaged pack over to Synkromotive today to have some experts take a look at it. We took voltage readings of each of the 12 cells. They each read about 3.3V, except for two cells. One of them read just about zero, and the one with the obvious damage read about 1.8V. Their advice was to just replace the bad cells and keep going. They also briefly studied the BMS that came with the batteries, and deemed it satisfactory.

I bought a bionX 500HS motor with li ion 36 volts battery one moth ago.It is mounted on a good city bike. I have heard (apparently this news comes from the one of our european importer) that is is not good at all to use the recharge function of the bionX; the battery longevity would suffer from it. Is it llike cellular batteries? ie it is not good to recharge constantly the battery ?
Does somebody have experienced shorter life or problems to their bionx battery because of this practise ?

I had a harrowing experience yesterday while I was riding the Rezistor home from work. I smelled something funny (it always starts that way, doesn't it?), looked down, and saw smoke coming out from under the seat. I pulled over, cut the power, got off, and saw the paint on the exterior catch fire. I blew out the fire, lifted the seat, and saw some arcing between the corner of the battery pack and the inside of the scooter body. I disconnected the battery pack immediately.

Call me stupid, call me a simpleton, all I really need is a simple diagram that shows how to re wire new batteries in my Evader 1000. When I opened it up, the wires fell off the charger plug in the scooder and there are a couple of other wires I'm afraid to connect. All I know is that it's 4 12v batteries in series.
Help for dummies!!
Thanks!

Over the past couple of weeks, some forward progress has been made. I was able to finish the re-sealing of the front forks. I had to special order some bolts that were destroyed during dis-assembly from the Honda dealer to finish the job. The new front tire has been mounted and balanced, and the front end is now back together. The D&D ES-15A motor arrived last week, and I spent the better part of Saturday making mounts. The motor mounts are done! The motor is in position and ready to be wired.
