I managed to shim the v-belt pulley and jerry-rig a motor mount, so I mounted up the little motor onto my Piaggio Boxer scooter, put the v-belt on, strapped the batteries on with duct tape, and shorted the throttle wires, and it ran!
The speed was horrendous, maybe 6 mph on a slight downhill and 3-4 mph on a level surface. But that's fine for the purpose of my test run.
Here are the current specs:

Well, I went to Tractor Supply Center (TSC) today and all they had were imperial sized pulleys (1/2" and 3/4" bores). The motor that I have must be a metric size one because the 1/2" hub pulleys were too large. I bought some 1/2" hub pulleys anyway since I wanted to see if it would work as a proof of concept (and just around how much more power I'll need).
Now I just have to make a mount for the motor. I think I'll just use a piece of 2x6 wood that I have laying around and make a simple mount.

My partner had bought an old Piaggio Boxer mo-ped a couple of years ago but sitting in our garage had rusted out the engine. I decided to make it an EV conversion.
So far, I've removed the old ICE cleanly. It looks like the ICE was connected to the rear wheel through a belt-driven CVT / clutch.

So over the months since getting my Bionx it seems others have said before me, I am out performing my big ring. As I've gotten in better shape again ,what I have come to love about bionx is the 'takeoff' assist or just getting up to speed before I get my own momentum going. Previously I did a lot of searching on how to get bionx to assist past the normal 20mph , since then I've become totally content with it's inherent limits .

I started putting together a bank charger when i ordered the xm3k. I found 5 vector 2/6/10's on Amazon, & bought them. $140 shipped. When they came one didn't work. :( I'm still trying to resolve that with the company.. hopefull there won't be any major problems. It does give me a problem wiring them all up.. i can only do a 4 bank charger for now.

Ok, it came today. Like many others, the steel packaging frame was pretty bent up, but i hoped everything else was ok. It definitely has some issues.. i'll be spending some time with xtreme sorting it out.
This is the start of the report of this bike.. i'll post pics & descriptions as i go along.

So here's my problem: I have a 48 volt Kelly brushless motor controller and the 0-5k Magura motorcycle style throttle. Now I'm sure you all know this part but I'm gonna put it in here anyways for clarification; the Magura has a blue (top speed) wire, a brown (wiper/variable) wire, and a black (zero speed) wire but in the Kelly manual it only refers to a throttle with a (+5v) wire, a (GND) wire, and a wire that says (OUT.) On the Kelly website they have a similar bike throttle but all it tells me is that the (+5v) wire is red and that the (GND) wire is black.

I ride a bike to work most days. From 1974 to 2003 the trip was usually three miles one way, but then the office moved to make it a seven mile trip. I found a route without too many hills and I kept on biking, but I started getting more intersted in an electric bike.
I bought a used Wildernessenergy bike in September 2007 from someone who was not usimg it.
It worked OK but seemed to run down just at six miles. Maybe the battery was not charged enough, maybe it preferred people under 160 pounds, etc., etc.
