Rode the Rezistor to work yesterday and today. I haven't been able to find any electrical outlets on the outside of the (very old) building I work in, so I had to improvise.

I believe I am the only person to buy a container of these bikes, and pre sold 21 of them. When they started to break down, the first one did not leave the yard, I protected the company thinking that they could be repaired and all would be well. It is not. These bikes are not ready for the open market.

This weekend I rode the Rezistor to Spring Scoot, a scooter rally held annually each year here in Portland. It basically served as the initial test run and range tests. I started with a 6.6 mile ride on Friday night and rode progressively longer distances Saturday and Sunday. I finished with a 14.5 mile ride Sunday evening, much of it at full throttle. There seemed to be juice left when I got home, although my headlight (and presumably the rest of my accessories) seems to have given out a few blocks earlier. The controller, motor, and power cables were only a little warm.

The replacement controller from Team Delta arrived on Wednesday. Fantastic service from Dan, considering I just explained the problem to him on Sunday. I installed it and, at first, got the same "MOSFET short circuit" error message from the controller as before. I wondered if the contactor might be faulty, so I took that out, fiddled with it as much as I could (which wasn't much) then reinstalled it. But then it occured to me that the 12V converter might be faulty, so I left that disconnected. That must have been it, because the scooter worked after that.

I found this link on Google, and it's pretty much a complete list of charging stations available throughout
different states. You can either do a search by a color coded map or you can find charging stations lists by cities.
I am not sure how up-to-date this search engine is.

Hello everyone and thanks for letting me join the forum. I am considering building RQ Rileys Urbatrike. I was wondering if anyone in the group could tell me of any other websites or electric trike builds besides Austin Higgs or Reikimans. They are both very nice jobs., but I am just looking for all the information and ideas I can find before I start. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks, Jeff

On Sunday I contacted Dan at Team Delta, who sold me the motor and controller. I described what was happening with the Sevcon Millipak controller and he was able to clarify things for me.

Recently I noticed some motorcycles w/ approx 100 lb battery packs are having the same range as I'm getting with the 220 lb pack on my Lectra. Namely 45 miles/hr and up to 10 miles range. Last weekend I showed the Lectra to a knowledgeable e-motorcycle builder and he thought I should be getting better range. So I'm wondering what's up with the range.
If I'm careful and don't hit the throttle real hard .. I can get 11-12 miles range. Hit the throttle hard, and the range is much less.

Well this is my third EV project. I was so encouraged by the results of the Kawasaki 4-wheeler conversion, that I knew a daily driven street vehicle was within reach. I sold my ICE race car last fall, and decided to devote the $ to an electrtic vehicle. I calculated and researched cars, and decided that a car at this time was not within reach financially. With permission from my wife, I decided on an electric motorcycle. I researched this forum, the Austin EV website and many other links to nail down the voltage, frame and bike size.
