I got my batteries delivered on Friday. I now have about 360lbs of lead to play with! Along with a whole bunch of other stuff and I need to fit it all in that poor, unsuspecting 750 frame...
I went to the local metal supply shop and bought some 1/8" strap and some L shaped as well. I've been playing around with specific mounting strategies in my mind for a while - now it was time to try them out for real. So far, touch wood, I've been reasonably happy with my progress.

Sunday I got to work on the Honda Elite, which David Herron owns.
From my previous blog on the Ev Elite,I started the blog because David had offered me the scooter as a project.
As a beginner I had to get rid of the idea of combustible engines and electric vehicles because they are completely different. Though I kept getting confused occasionally 8) Anyway's that's besides the point.
Sunday we were able to hook up the batteries completely (though they are unstable at the moment, not secure)
I mostly did work with stripping wires to hook the batteries together.

So as a newbie I have never quite ridden an electric scooter, and I got to do so today.
I had also never used a throttle, so that was quite interesting. I basically had to grasp the idea of gaining balance
and using the throttle at the same time, (duh um lol).Hmmm which I had a hard time doing.
So I find it kinda ironic that I can drive an Armored truck, but need to practice using the throttle and using balance

My Lectra has been on the motorcycle stand for so long I'd forgotten what it looks like on the ground. It's a squat little motorcycle.

I made a major milestone this evening and wanted to share with y'all the status.
I'm working to rejeuvenate a Lectra motorcycle. Look back in my blog postings for previous status updates. This motorcycle is gonna be way cool when phase 2 is finished. At the moment though I'm still working on getting phase 1 finished, namely to have the motorcycle functioning and running on the road.

At this point I have all the major electrical components for the drivetrain: motor, controller, batteries, contactor, and throttle. I also have two 12V voltage converters for lights, horn, and other stuff, and four LED bulbs (replacements for low-voltage halogen bulbs, actually) that I'm going to put behind the old headlight lens. Not DOT-certified, to be sure, but should be the equivalent of at least 40W to 60W incandescent. I think the original bulb was only 15W anyway.

Ok , I know that with any used ,, well anything there can be problems.
I got my very 1st EV. The EVT 168 equinox. I love the look and handling of this bike. I love the whole idea of the Green machine. I love the way I dont pay for gas with it:) What I dont love is the fact that I didnt know enough about them before I got it. Seams I have run into a few problems that Iam just now getting to grips with.
With the help of this forum ( and my I say you all a great bunch of people) I'm fixing things as we go.

Anyone know where I can get a turn signal switch that would work with the Emax sport? Thanks.

Battery and Motor Layouts
The following pictures show my trial layouts using 55Ah batteries and an ADC motor (6.75" diameter, 11 inch length). The box for the batteries includes the terminal height and is also oversized by 1/4 inch (the internal measurment is the external measurement of the battery).
